ETL Pipeline Engineering and Operations (40%)\n- Maintain and scale daily ETL/ELT pipelines using workflow or scheduling tools.\n- Build extractors for manufacturing reports in multiple formats (Excel, CSV, email attachments, compressed archives).\n- Implement incremental loads with idempotent transforms (deduplication, checkpoints, rerun-safe jobs).\n- Optimize PostgreSQL batch ingestion (COPY / UPSERT) for large volumes with stable memory use.\n- Monitor scheduled production runs; handle failures, alerting, and recovery.\n2. Data Services, Analytics, and Reporting (25%)\n- Maintain backend data APIs and services that power analytics dashboards and reports.\n- Write and tune PostgreSQL queries (CTEs, window functions) for operational and analytical use cases.\n- Support dashboard / reporting needs: KPI definition, trend analysis, and ad-hoc data requests.\n- Standardize manufacturing metrics such as station yield, First Pass Yield (FPY), and repair turnaround time (TAT).\n- Apply basic statistics or data science methods (e.g. anomaly detection, SPC-style quality tracking) where they improve insight.\n3. Data Governance and Cross-site Communication (15%)\n- Serve as the technical contact for data exchange with contract manufacturing sites.\n- Align report formats, column schemas, and naming standards with site engineering teams.\n- Improve data quality on incomplete or inconsistent fields (e.g. defect classification, part numbers).\n- Manage master data versioning (e.g. BOM) and coordinate automated report collection.\n- Investigate source-data issues: template changes, corrupted files, and encoding / formatting errors.\n4. Database Administration and Warehousing (20%)\n- Design and maintain warehouse layers: staging, ODS, DW, and application summary tables.\n- Manage PostgreSQL schema changes, indexing, and routine database maintenance.\n- Enforce role-based access control for ETL, BI, and administrative users.\n- Maintain data quality checks, pipeline tests, and documentation.\n- Own historical backfill procedures: backup, reset, reprocess, and verify.\nQualifications:\nRequired (Must-Have)\n- Python 3: 2+ years hands-on experience; proficient in pandas, numpy, and related libraries for data processing and ETL.\n- SQL and relational databases: strong PostgreSQL (or Oracle / MS SQL) skills, including CTEs, window functions, UPSERT, schema design, and indexing.\n- Automated data pipelines: experience building and operating production ETL/ELT jobs with workflow or scheduling tools.\n- Data quality: schema validation, deduplication, batch processing, and basic error handling / alerting.\n- Version control: Git branching workflows and configuration management.\n- Communication: able to discuss data requirements with engineering and operations teams in Chinese and English.\n- Education: BS/MS in Computer Science, Information Management, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.\nPreferred (Nice-to-Have)\n- Web / API backend development (e.g. Python web frameworks) and dashboard / reporting services.\n- Data warehousing: staging / ODS / DW layers and aggregate summary tables.\n- Analytics: exploratory analysis, KPI definition, and manufacturing or quality metrics (yield, FPY, TAT, SPC).\n- Data science fundamentals: statistics, feature preparation, or basic machine learning for reporting and insight.\n- Parsing semi-structured files (Excel, CSV, PDF, email attachments, archives).\n- Deployment: Windows Server, task scheduling, or Docker.\n- Interest in LLM / RAG applications on top of internal data platforms.\nEEO Statement\nSupermicro is an Equal Opportunity Employer and embraces diversity in our employee population.
