We seek talented, passionate, and committed engineers, technologists, and business leaders to join us.\nJob Summary:\nThe System / Product Engineer will support the development, validation, launch, and lifecycle management of Supermicro Client System, AI PC, Desktop, and Workstation products.\nThis position will work closely with Product Management, Engineering, BIOS/BMC, Validation, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, FAE, and external technology partners to ensure products meet technical requirements, customer expectations, quality standards, and launch schedules.\nThe ideal candidate should have strong PC and workstation system knowledge, hands-on troubleshooting capability, and the ability to translate customer requirements into practical system configurations and engineering actions.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\n1. Product Development and NPI Support\nSupport new product introduction from product definition, prototype build, engineering validation, pilot production, mass production, and product launch.\nReview system specifications, BOMs, product configurations, compatibility requirements, and engineering documentation.\nCoordinate with motherboard, chassis, thermal, power supply, BIOS, firmware, software, validation, and manufacturing teams.\nTrack engineering issues, validation status, project risks, and corrective actions to ensure projects meet schedule and quality targets.\nSupport product readiness reviews and production release activities.\n2. System Integration and Validation\nPerform system configuration, integration, functional testing, compatibility testing, and performance validation.\nValidate CPUs, GPUs, memory, storage, networking, power supplies, cooling solutions, operating systems, drivers, and peripheral devices.\nAnalyze system performance, thermal behavior, acoustic performance, power consumption, stability, and reliability.\nReproduce and troubleshoot hardware, firmware, BIOS, driver, operating system, and application-related issues.\nWork with engineering teams to identify root causes and drive corrective and preventive actions.\n3. Product Configuration and Technical Documentation\nMaintain product specifications, supported configuration lists, BOMs, compatibility matrices, test reports, user guides, FAQs, and technical training materials.\nSupport the creation and maintenance of product web content, configuration guides, sales tools, and technical collateral.\nEnsure product information is accurate and consistent across internal systems, customer-facing materials, and sales channels.\nDevelop reference configurations and recommended solution stacks for different customer use cases.\n4. Customer, Sales, and FAE Support\nProvide technical support to Product Management, Sales, FAE, channel partners, and customers during product evaluation, proof-of-concept, deployment, and post-launch support.\nAnalyze customer requirements and recommend suitable system configurations and solutions.\nSupport customer issue escalation, failure analysis, and technical communication.\nParticipate in customer meetings, product demonstrations, technical training, and solution presentations when required.\nHelp convert customer feedback and field issues into product improvement actions.\n5. Product Lifecycle and Quality Management\nMonitor field quality, customer feedback, return data, engineering change notices, component changes, and product lifecycle risks.\nCoordinate component qualification, second-source validation, cost-reduction activities, and product sustaining engineering.\nSupport engineering change management and evaluate the impact of component, firmware, BIOS, and design changes.\nAssist with product phase-in, phase-out, end-of-life, and replacement planning.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.\nMinimum 3-5 years of experience in system engineering, product engineering, hardware engineering, validation engineering, technical support, or a related role.\nStrong technical knowledge of PC, desktop, workstation, or server system architecture.\nHands-on experience with system assembly, configuration, validation, debugging, and failure analysis.\nGood understanding of the following technologies:\no Intel and/or AMD CPU platforms\no NVIDIA and/or AMD GPUs\no DDR4/DDR5 memory\no PCIe architecture and add-in cards\no NVMe/SATA storage\no Ethernet and wireless networking\no Power supply, thermal, and cooling design\no Windows and Linux operating systems\nAbility to troubleshoot issues involving hardware, BIOS, firmware, drivers, operating systems, thermal performance, power, and system compatibility.\nExperience reading system block diagrams, schematics, mechanical drawings, specifications, and validation reports.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, project tracking, and technical documentation skills.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills in English.\nAbility to work effectively with geographically distributed and cross-functional teams.\nSelf-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects and priorities.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with desktop, workstation, AI PC, edge AI, or professional GPU systems.\nExperience supporting Intel Core, Intel Xeon, AMD Ryzen, AMD EPYC, NVIDIA GeForce, or NVIDIA RTX PRO platforms.\nExperience with AI workloads, local AI inference, generative AI, RAG, computer vision, or AI development tools.\nFamiliarity with system benchmarking and diagnostic tools such as SPEC, Cinebench, PCMark, 3DMark, MLPerf, MemTest, BurnInTest, stress-testing tools, and thermal monitoring tools.\nExperience with NPI, EVT/DVT/PVT, pilot production, mass production, and sustaining engineering processes.\nFamiliarity with PLM, ERP, issue-tracking, or project-management systems.\nExperience working with ODM, OEM, system integrators, component suppliers, or semiconductor partners.\nKnowledge of regulatory, safety, environmental, and quality requirements, including CE, FCC, UL, RoHS, and Energy Star.\nExperience supporting enterprise customers, channel partners, FAE teams, or technical sales organizations.\nKey Competencies\nSystem-level technical troubleshooting\nCross-functional project execution\nCustomer requirement analysis\nProduct quality and issue ownership\nTechnical communication and documentation\nSense of urgency and accountability\nAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environment\nSuccess Metrics\nOn-time completion of product validation and NPI milestones\nProduct launch readiness and configuration accuracy\nTimely closure of engineering and customer issues\nReduction in recurring field and production issues\nQuality and completeness of technical documentation\nResponsiveness to Product Management, Sales, FAE, and customer requests\nImprovement in product compatibility, reliability, and customer satisfaction\nEEO Statement\nSupermicro is an Equal Opportunity Employer and embraces diversity in our employee population.
