This role will serve as the primary technical owner of our Microsoft Azure environment while also supporting and maintaining Windows-based infrastructure and business-critical systems. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Azure services, networking, security, automation, and virtualization, while remaining comfortable performing traditional systems administration tasks. Linux administration experience is a significant plus. The position works closely with infrastructure, security, development, desktop support, and business teams to design, deploy, secure, and support enterprise technology solutions.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nMicrosoft Azure Administration\nDesign, deploy, manage, and optimize Microsoft Azure infrastructure.\nAdminister Azure Virtual Machines, storage accounts, virtual networks, resource groups, and supporting services.\nConfigure and maintain VNets, Network Security Groups (NSGs), route tables, private endpoints, VPN connectivity, DNS services, and VNet peering.\nImplement and maintain Azure security controls and operational best practices.\nMonitor Azure environments for performance, availability, security, and cost optimization.\nSupport Azure backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives.\nIdentity and Endpoint Management\nAdminister Microsoft Entra ID, including Conditional Access, MFA, RBAC, and identity governance.\nDeploy and maintain Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot.\nSupport device compliance policies, application deployment, and endpoint security.\nIntegrate cloud and on-premises identity solutions.\nDevOps and Automation\nSupport Azure DevOps environments, repositories, pipelines, and CI/CD processes.\nDevelop automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM templates, Bicep, or comparable Infrastructure as Code tools.\nStreamline provisioning, monitoring, configuration, and operational tasks.\nCollaborate with development teams on application deployment and release management.\nSecurity Operations\nImplement and maintain cloud and infrastructure security standards and controls.\nRespond to security findings, vulnerability remediation activities, and operational incidents.\nAdminister and support CrowdStrike, Barracuda, Cisco Duo, and Datto RMM.\nAssist with security audits, compliance initiatives, evidence gathering, and technical documentation.\nApply security best practices across Azure and on-premises infrastructure.\nSystems Administration\nAdminister primarily Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file services.\nTroubleshoot server, operating system, application, authentication, and connectivity issues.\nManage patching, updates, backups, monitoring, and lifecycle activities.\nProvide Tier III infrastructure support and escalation assistance.\nSupport Linux-based systems and services when needed; strong Linux experience is a significant plus.\nNetworking\nAssist with administration and troubleshooting of Meraki infrastructure, Meraki vMX, FortiGate virtual appliances, VPN technologies, routing, switching, DNS, and network security controls.\nWork with internal teams and service providers to diagnose connectivity, routing, firewall, and performance issues.\nApply a practical understanding of subnets, TCP/IP, ports, protocols, and network segmentation.\nDocumentation and Project Delivery\nMaintain technical documentation, diagrams, standards, and operating procedures.\nParticipate in cloud migration, modernization, security, and infrastructure lifecycle projects.\nUse Jira for project tracking, issue management, change coordination, and documentation.\nCommunicate project status, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\nFive or more years of systems administration or infrastructure engineering experience.\nThree or more years of hands-on Microsoft Azure administration or engineering experience.\nStrong knowledge of Azure Virtual Machines, Azure networking, NSGs, routing, and security.\nHands-on experience with Microsoft Intune and endpoint management.\nExperience supporting Azure DevOps and automation practices.\nStrong Windows Server administration and troubleshooting skills.\nBasic to intermediate networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, routing, VPNs, DNS, firewalls, and network segmentation.\nExperience with security tools, endpoint protection, vulnerability remediation, and access controls.\nPowerShell proficiency and an automation-focused mindset.\nGeneral SQL knowledge, including the ability to understand basic queries and assist with application or infrastructure troubleshooting.\nStrong analytical, documentation, communication, and project coordination skills.\nAbility to work independently, manage priorities, and support business-critical production systems.\nPreferred Qualifications\nLinux server administration experience.\nExperience with Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or other Infrastructure as Code platforms.\nExperience supporting hybrid cloud environments and on-premises Active Directory integrations.\nExperience with Meraki vMX and FortiGate virtual appliances.\nMicrosoft certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Network Engineer Associate, Azure Security Engineer Associate, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.\nExperience supporting SQL Server, ERP systems, web applications, or application-hosting
