You will support a hybrid technology stack spanning Windows-based applications (.NET, IIS, SQL Server) and cloud-native infrastructure (AWS, containers, Kubernetes, and Terraform).\nThis is a hands-on role for someone who takes ownership of production reliability, enjoys investigating complex failures, and independently identifies opportunities to improve systems. Prior Windows or SQL Server experience is not required if you bring strong infrastructure and relational database fundamentals and can learn unfamiliar technologies independently.\nResponsibilities\nOwn availability, reliability, and performance of core backend infrastructure across Windows and Linux environments.\nImprove observability using Kibana, CloudWatch, centralized logging, and custom telemetry; identify monitoring gaps before incidents occur.\nBuild, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code using Terraform and Ansible.\nLearn and operate production Windows environments, including .NET Framework/.NET Core applications hosted on IIS.\nLearn and support SQL Server, including AlwaysOn and Service Broker, alongside PostgreSQL and Aurora.\nOperate cloud-native services and workloads across AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, Redshift, OpenStack, and containers.\nParticipate in an on-call rotation, troubleshoot incidents, and contribute to effective postmortems and preventive actions.\nPartner with engineering teams to improve deployment safety, system resilience, and operational processes.\nProactively identify problems, automate repetitive work, and drive improvements without waiting for direction.\nRequirements\n5+ years of hands-on SRE, DevOps, or WebOps experience supporting production SaaS systems.\nStrong practical experience with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure management.\nAWS operations experience, including Lambda, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, and IAM.\nStrong relational database fundamentals (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar), including query tuning, replication, backups, recovery, and high availability.\nExperience operating and debugging containerized and distributed systems in production.\nStrong Linux systems administration skills.\nAbility to script and automate with Python, Bash, or PowerShell (PowerShell can be learned on the job).\nExperience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.\nFamiliarity with Redis, Kibana, Elasticsearch, and centralized logging.\nExcellent incident response, troubleshooting, and communication skills.\nDemonstrated ownership, curiosity, self-directed learning, and a record of proactively improving systems.\nAvailability to work US business hours and participate in an on-call rotation.\nPreferred\nExperience with Windows Server, IIS, and .NET applications.\nSQL Server experience, particularly AlwaysOn and Service Broker.\nPersonal technology projects, home labs, open-source contributions, or tools built independently.\nWillingness
