We are looking to appoint a Surveyor within the land department in our Manchester office. We have a network of ten offices with our teams of surveyors and engineers working on some of the UK’s major construction and infrastructure developments.\nAs a Surveyor at Survey Solutions, you will work independently completing a full range of small to large scale topographical, measured building and setting out surveys, using innovative technology and processing data in the office to a high working standard. You will be confident working on multi-disciplined survey projects and will have a competent understanding of various surveying methods and data capture.\nYou will also share your expertise and knowledge with less experienced team members to assist their development, by providing practical experience onsite and office-based work.\nThis is a full-time role with office hours of Monday to Friday from 9.00 - 5.30, however site hours will vary so overtime and occasional weekend working will be required.\nResponsibilities\nAs a Land & Measured Building Surveyor, you will:\nComplete topographical surveys and measured building surveys, of various scale and complexity, independently to a high standard\nWork on large and complex surveying projects with team members of various technical ability and experience, to complete the project to a high standard\nProvide guidance and direction to team members on large and complex survey projects\nWork effectively on projects with trainee, junior and survey technician level staff, assisting with their development by providing practical experience onsite\nProcess multi data sets from various instrumentation to a high working standard, including topographical and measured building data\nDemonstrate competent knowledge of traversing and GPS control networks\nUndertake initial site inspections and complete dynamic risk assessments when attending survey sites, reporting any safety issues to the wider surveying team or to management\nRequirements\nThe Person:\nPrevious experience working in the surveying industry (2-3+ years).\nPrevious experience completing small to large scale topographical surveys, of various complexities, independently\nPrevious experience completing measured building surveys, of various scales or complexities, with laser scanners and/or traditional methods independently\nExperience processing raw survey data and CAD data to a high working standard\nExperience and knowledge of traversing and GPS control networks\nExtensive technical knowledge and previous practical experience of topographical surveying, including experience using surveying equipment and software\nPassionate about pursuing a long-term career with Survey Solutions\nFull UK driving licence\nRight to work in the UK\nBenefits\n24 days leave plus bank holidays, increasing for years of service up to 30 days\nCompany sick pay\nLife assurance\nCompany vehicle\nBirthday gifts\nFlexible holidays\nChristmas bonus\nLong service awards\nMental health & wellbeing schemes, including access to counselling and an employee assistance programme\nOvertime\nRefer a friend scheme -
