As a key contributor, you will help build and scale automated testing frameworks, quality engineering practices, and release processes that ensure our products remain reliable, performant, and delightful for millions of users worldwide.\nThis role is critical in enabling engineering teams to deliver high-quality software at speed. You will work closely with software engineers, product managers, designers, and fellow quality engineers to establish testing strategies, improve release confidence, and drive quality throughout the software development lifecycle.\nYou understand that quality is a shared responsibility. While automation is central to maintaining engineering velocity, you also recognize the importance of exploratory and risk-based testing to uncover issues that automated checks may not detect. If you are passionate about modern test automation, continuous delivery, and building quality into every stage of development, we'd love to hear from you!\nWhat you’ll be working on\nDesigning and developing scalable automation frameworks and test suites using WebdriverIO, JavaScript, and modern testing tools.\n\nDriving quality initiatives end-to-end, from test planning and automation strategy through release validation and production readiness.\n\nBuilding and maintaining automated functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test coverage across our applications.\n\nVerifying and validating RESTful APIs, third-party integrations, and backend services through code-based testing approaches.\n\nPerforming cross-browser, cross-platform, exploratory, and user-focused testing to ensure exceptional customer experiences.\n\nSupporting performance, load, and scalability testing efforts to identify bottlenecks before production.\n\nWorking closely with engineering teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.\n\nInvestigating production issues, performing root cause analysis, and collaborating with developers to improve product reliability.\n\nImproving feature observability through logs, metrics, monitoring, and alerting systems such as Splunk and CloudWatch.\n\nMentoring engineers on testing best practices and contributing to the overall quality engineering strategy across the platform.\n\nWe’d love to hear from people with\n5+ years of professional experience in Quality Engineering, Software Testing, or Test Automation.\n\nStrong experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks using JavaScript-based tools such as WebdriverIO, Playwright, Cypress, TestCafe, or similar technologies.\n\nHands-on experience testing and validating RESTful APIs and service integrations through automated code-based approaches.\n\nStrong understanding of software development lifecycles, Agile methodologies, and modern quality engineering practices.\n\nExperience working with CI/CD platforms, automated deployment pipelines, and test execution workflows.\n\nFamiliarity with containerized environments using Docker and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.\n\nExperience with test management and issue tracking platforms such as Jira and TestRail.\n\nStrong knowledge of SQL, database validation, test data management, and backend testing concepts.\n\nExperience troubleshooting production issues and performing defect triage and root cause analysis.\n\nExcellent debugging and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and data-driven approach to quality improvements.\n\nDemonstrated ability to lead test planning activities, influence quality practices, and mentor other engineers.\n\nStrong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working across engineering, product, and design teams.\n\nNice to have\nExperience developing automation utilities and frameworks using JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, or Python.\n\nHands-on experience with performance and load testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, k6, or equivalent platforms.\n\nFamiliarity with Kubernetes, service orchestration, and cloud-native deployment environments.\n\nExperience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Splunk, CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar tools.\n\nKnowledge of frontend testing practices for modern web applications, including React-based applications.\n\nExperience validating analytics, payments, authentication, security, or other third-party integrations.\n\nExperience testing multi-tenant SaaS products, survey platforms, forms products, or customer-facing web applications.\n\nFamiliarity with AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering productivity practices.\n\nSurveyMonkey believes in-person collaboration is valuable for building relationships, fostering community, and enhancing our speed and execution in problem-solving and decision-making.As such, this opportunity is hybrid and requires you to work from the SurveyMonkey office in Bengaluru 3 days per week.\n#LI-Hybrid\nWhy SurveyMonkey?
