Critical to achieving excellent results will be your strategic vision, ability to resolve deeply complex technical challenges, and influence over key technology choices and engineering standards across the business.\nThe role sits within the Digital Experience function, reporting to the Engineering Manager / Senior Manager, Digital Experience, who is globally based.\nFocus Areas\nOptimizely Front-End Engineering: Architect and build scalable, responsive B2B web experiences in Optimizely CMS, translating complex designs and content models into high-performance web components and personalized user journeys.\nModern Web Standards & Performance: Apply deep expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks to deliver accessible, fast, cross-browser compatible, and maintainable codebases.\nDesign Systems & Component Governance: Own and scale Optimizely component libraries, defining design-system architectures, coding standards, accessibility benchmarks, and reusable UI patterns.\nPersonalization & Dynamic UX: Partner with UX, marketing, and digital strategy teams to implement dynamic content, experimentation, and audience-targeted web experiences.\nAI Adoption & Front-end Innovation: Leverage emerging AI tools and workflows to accelerate frontend development, automate content operations, and optimize digital customer experiences.\nPreferred Experience & Skills\n5+ years of front-end software engineering experience delivering large-scale, high-impact digital experiences or enterprise web applications.\n Mastery of modern front-end web technologies: Expertise in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, React, Next.js, HTML5, modern CSS methodologies, and modern build/bundling systems.\nProven ability to lead technical architecture and establish enterprise-grade front-end design systems and component libraries.\nDemonstrable experience leading complex, cross-functional engineering projects with company-wide reach and long-term business impact.\n Solid understanding of web performance optimization, Core Web Vitals, web security fundamentals, and internationalization (i18n).\nExcellent communication and strategic influence skills with the ability to articulate architectural decisions, navigate organizational ambiguity, and build consensus with executive leadership.\nPersonal Attributes\nThe ideal candidate will embrace the transformative nature of this role.
