In this role, you will work closely with our Cloud Engineer and Technology team to take shared ownership of our cloud platforms, strengthen our infrastructure, and actively contribute to the development of production-ready backend services and automation solutions.\nIf you are passionate about sustainability and would like to join a culturally certified Great Place to Work® company with highly motivated and diverse teams making a real difference, we look forward to your application!\nYour main duties will be:\nShare ownership of our cloud infrastructure (AWS and GCP) and ensure the reliable operation of our platforms and services \nDesign, implement, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows \nManage, maintain, and optimise containerised applications and environments using Docker \nDevelop, maintain, refactor, and review production code for backend APIs, automation workflows, and data processing pipelines, primarily in Python \n Ensure the stability, performance, scalability, and security of our platforms and backend services \nContribute to strengthening our security architecture and support compliance with ISO-related requirements \nIdentify operational risks, troubleshoot incidents, and proactively improve system reliability and resilience \nCollaborate closely with our GIS and software development teams to integrate geospatial systems and applications \nCreate and maintain technical documentation and contribute to the standardisation of infrastructure and deployment processes \nActively contribute to cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives\nYour profile\nProfessional backgroundUniversity degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT Security, or a comparable field \n At least 3 years of experience in DevOps, backend development, or platform engineering\nExperience working with or understanding secure systems / compliance environments (e.g. ISO 27001)\nTechnical skills\nStrong experience with Docker and containerisation\nVery good knowledge of Linux systems and shell scripting\nExperience working with cloud platforms (preferably AWS and GCP)\nFamiliarity with CI/CD tools (e.g. GitHub Actions or similar)\nSolid programming skills in Python\nHands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform) is a strong advantage\nSolid understanding of API design and backend architecture is highly desirable\nFamiliarity with data processing pipelines and automation workflows is considered an advantage\nExposure to geospatial data and tools (e.g. PostGIS, GeoPandas) is a plus\nKnowledge of satellite data or environmental datasets is an advantage\nPersonal competencies\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured and solution-oriented mindset\nAbility to take ownership of critical systems and deliver reliable, high-quality solutions\nProactive, hands-on working style with a continuous improvement mindset \nStrong communication and collaboration skills in interdisciplinary teams\n Excellent English language skills (at least C1, written and spoken); German language skills are an advantage \nWhy us?\nWe are an international and diverse team of passionate and experienced experts, joining forces for a sustainable future!
