We have 3,500 dedicated healthcare employees in 10+ global sites delivering customized and scalable BPO solutions that improve the overall quality of our clients’ healthcare services.\nThis is a part time position and will work onsite at two hospitals in Peoria and Pekin, IL.\nIt will be about 20-25 hrs per week\n The Patient Advocate screens patients for Medicaid and other State or Federal assistance programs, determines eligibility, and assists with applications, documentation, and required follow-up.\nScreen patients through bedside visits, phone interviews, or field visits to determine eligibility.\nEducate and assist patients with Medicaid and other assistance applications.\nGather required documents and complete eligibility verification.\nCoordinate with physicians, case managers, social workers, hospital staff, and government agencies.\nProvide excellent customer service and maintain professional relationships.\nDocument patient interactions, update account statuses, and complete weekly reports.\nFollow Sutherland/client policies, quality standards, and Medicaid/HIX guidelines.\nTravel to local government offices as needed.\nMaintain a professional appearance and keep required certifications current.\n Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.\nKnowledge of Medicaid eligibility and Health Insurance Exchange; Certified Application Counselor a plus.\nReliable transportation and ability to travel locally as needed (no overnight travel).\nAbility to work independently and make sound decisions.\nStrong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.\nExcellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.\nBasic computer proficiency and ability to maintain required system knowledge and certifications.\nBilingual (Spanish) preferred but not required.\n This is a part time position and will work onsite at two hospitals in Peoria and Pekin, IL.
