Your work will help ensure that the Indeed Question Platform and related systems remain reliable, well-maintained, and continuously improved, while providing effective tooling to support adoption and troubleshooting. This is a strictly backend-focused role, and candidates with a primarily frontend-oriented background are not a fit. The role requires coverage of the US Central Time (CST) zone.\nRequirements\n3+ years of professional experience in backend software development.\nProficiency in Java and/or Kotlin.\nProficiency with NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB Atlas.\nProficiency with relational databases, particularly Aurora MySQL on AWS.\nExperience building cloud-native distributed systems on AWS.\nExperience with the Spring Boot framework.\nExperience developing APIs with GraphQL using Netflix DGS.\nExperience building and operating large-scale, high-performance, and resilient systems on AWS.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills in English, with the ability to work effectively across teams.\nWill be a plus\nExperience developing event-driven systems, ideally with Apache Kafka and/or Amazon SQS.\nExperience with AI-assisted coding.\nExperience with Terraform.\nExperience building microservices.\nExperience developing APIs with gRPC and REST.\nResponsibilities\nOwn and deliver important deferred engineering work, including compliance and maintenance, cost optimization, observability, experiment cleanup, and operational tooling.\nDesign, build, and maintain scalable, performant, and reliable software systems.\nContribute to system architecture and technical design, validating solutions through data and experimentation where appropriate.\nParticipate in code reviews and design reviews to maintain high engineering standards.\nCollaborate closely with cross-functional partners, including software engineers, product managers, data scientists, and designers.\nPartner with the Product Manager and fellow engineers to clarify requirements and contribute to technical design, with a primary focus on coding, testing, and
