Our client is a global alternative investment firm with more than 30 years of experience. It manages capital for institutional and individual investors across credit, equity, and real assets strategies, and also runs a retirement services business. The team includes more than 5,000 employees, over 950 of them investment professionals, with offices around the world.\nThis is a senior, hands-on technical leadership role. We are looking for someone who can become a trusted technical owner of our client’s MDM platform and reliably drive initiatives from design through execution.\nThe ideal candidate combines strong Semarchy xDM and Master Data Management (MDM) expertise with solid data engineering, data analysis, team leadership, and business-facing communication skills.\nThis role requires the candidate to work in person in New York office 3 days per week.\nRequirements\n10+ years of relevant engineering and data experience.\nStrong hands-on expertise with Semarchy xDM.\nDeep understanding of MDM concepts, including match/merge, survivorship, golden records, hierarchies, data quality, stewardship, workflows, and publishing and integration patterns.\nProven experience implementing enterprise MDM solutions end to end, from requirements and data analysis through production implementation and support.\nStrong SQL, data profiling, and data analysis skills, with the ability to investigate anomalies, identify patterns, and drive root-cause analysis.\nStrong understanding of the underlying data domain, and the ability to go beyond application configuration to understand source data, business processes, and downstream consumption.\nSolid data engineering background, with experience building and supporting production-grade data pipelines.\nExperience with technologies such as Snowflake, Azure, ADF, dbt, Fivetran, Python, and APIs, or comparable modern data technologies.\nUnderstanding of data modeling, data quality, data governance, metadata, lineage, and stewardship concepts.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and switch effectively between architecture, engineering, analysis, team leadership, and stakeholder engagement.\nComfort operating in a high-expectation, fast-moving environment with competing priorities and tight delivery timelines.\nAbility to provide hands-on technical leadership to onshore and offshore engineering teams.\nExperience reviewing and guiding technical designs, data models, SQL, pipelines, implementation approaches, and code.\nOwnership mindset: the ability to take ambiguous problems, bring structure, make sound technical decisions, and drive them through to completion.\nCuriosity about data and a genuine passion for solving difficult data problems.\nProblem-solving skills with a focus implementation, and ongoing support of the enterprise MDM platform using Semarchy xDM.\nLead end-to-end MDM initiatives, from business requirements gathering and source data analysis through solution design, production implementation, and support.\nAnalyze source data using SQL, data profiling, and data analysis techniques to identify anomalies, patterns, data quality issues, and root causes.\nDesign, implement, and maintain MDM capabilities, including match/merge, survivorship, golden records, hierarchies, data quality, stewardship workflows, and data publishing and integration.\nBuild, enhance, and support production-grade data pipelines and integrations with cloud data warehouses, operational systems, APIs, and downstream analytical platforms.\nReview and guide technical designs, data models, SQL queries, pipelines, code, and implementation approaches to ensure scalable and maintainable solutions.\nProvide hands-on technical leadership to onshore and
