QA Engineer

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a QA engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week), fully remote in Ukraine. You will work closely with software engineers and cross-functional teams to perform functional, system, integration, and regression testing of enterprise applications built with modern JavaScript frameworks, log and verify defects, and report on quality status. The ideal candidate is a self-driven, detail-oriented tester with strong communication skills who proactively takes on QA tasks as needs arise.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent program.
• 3+ years of QA experience.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including white-box, regression, and integration testing.
• Experience working in an Agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams and contributing to sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Familiarity with SQL and experience testing against different relational and non-relational databases.
• 2 years of hands-on experience testing enterprise applications developed in Svelte or another modern JavaScript framework.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills, along with attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Self-driven mindset, with the willingness to proactively take on any QA tasks as needs arise.

Will be a plus

• Familiarity with data streaming architecture.

Responsibilities

• Develop a robust and maintainable test case repository in TestRail.
• Develop and maintain a repository of automated tests.
• Collaborate closely with software engineers and the project team to ensure that deliverables meet quality requirements and test coverage.
• Perform functional, system, integration, and regression testing.
• Log defects and work closely with engineers to troubleshoot and verify fixes.
• Create quality status reports and escalate issues to the project team effectively.
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
