Our client is one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing job sites.\nIn this position, you will provide hands-on engineering support for data-platform modernization, migration, and reliability efforts. The role is needed to reduce the operational support load, modernize legacy Hadoop, Hive, and Airflow workloads, and move data-platform capabilities toward Snowflake, Confluent, AWS, and our client’s standards.\nRequirements\n3+ years of Senior-level, hands-on experience in production data-platform engineering, with a platform/DevOps-leaning background and strong data experience.\nStrong Python, bash, and SQL skills.\nProduction experience with both Snowflake and Confluent/Kafka, with a focus on DevOps and operations.\nDeep experience in one and working knowledge of the other is acceptable, in either combination: Deep Snowflake and AWS experience, with working Kafka knowledge (topics, connectors, schemas).\nDeep Kafka/Confluent and AWS experience, with working Snowflake knowledge.\n\nExperience operating or migrating production systems across development, stage, and production environments.\nStrong troubleshooting, incident-response, testing, documentation, and cross-team communication skills.\nExperience with least-privilege access, change control, secrets handling, and secure operational practices.\nWill be a plus\nExperience with Apache Spark and Hadoop/Hive/HQL, including modernizing or migrating legacy workloads.\nExperience with Snowpark, dbt alternatives, AWS Glue, Monte Carlo, or other data-quality and catalog tools.\nExperience migrating legacy Airflow, Hadoop, or Hive workloads to cloud-native or managed platforms.\nExperience working through a company migration or acquisition and aligning systems to a new organization’s standards.\nFamiliarity with Snowflake-to-Iceberg or Snowflake-to-data-lake migration patterns.\nResponsibilities\nHelp migrate our client’s acquired infrastructure and data-platform workloads to our client’s infrastructure.\nHelp move data-platform infrastructure and workloads to AWS us-east-2 (USE2), including the required connectivity, deployment, and operational prerequisites.\nEnable secure, governed access to the acquired data for our client’s data-platform consumers and downstream systems.\nModernize the data-platform architecture, tooling, orchestration, storage, and operational practices to align with our client’s standards.\nSupport Snowflake, Confluent/Kafka, AWS, and data-platform infrastructure migration and operations across stage and production.\nParticipate in production troubleshooting, incident response, documentation, runbook creation, and cross-team migration coordination.\nUse Terraform/IaC, GitLab, monitoring, and documented processes to deliver repeatable and auditable
