Our client builds AI agents that automate back-office functions for material manufacturers.\nAbout the Role:\nYou'll build the infrastructure for autonomous manufacturing operations, and AI agents are coordinating complex workflows in parallel. Also, you'll provide transaction processing that can't fail when real money is moving. You'll stitch together the software layer for how physical goods actually move, building data pipelines that extract intelligence from unstructured supplier documents and emails, and delivering integrations to ERPs and freight systems where APIs barely work or don't exist.\nOverlap: 3-4 hours with PST is required\nRequirements\n5+ years of deep software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend/infrastructure systems.\nTypeScript mastery: Extensive experience building type-safe Node.js services and API layers.\nPython proficiency: Ability to build and integrate Python services for data processing and ML pipelines.\nDatabase expertise: Deep PostgreSQL knowledge including schema design, query optimization, and migration strategies.\nAI/ML engineering experience: Production experience with LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, and RAG architectures.\nSystems thinking: Experience designing for reliability, scalability, and graceful degradation.\nComfortable with DevOps fundamentals: CI/CD, containerization, cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).\nAPI design skills: Strong understanding of RESTful patterns, authentication flows, and third-party integrations.\nSupply chain or logistics domain experience is a big plus.\nStrong English skills\nResponsibilities\nArchitect Next.js API routes, background jobs, and serverless functions that handle high-throughput order processing. \nDevelop and productionize LLM-based agents, AI/ML infrastructure, and RAG patterns for intelligent quote analysis and supplier recommendations. \nDesign Supabase/PostgreSQL schemas, migrations, and complex queries for materials, quotes, orders, and supplier relationships. \nBuild reliable pipelines for order state management, notification triggers, and cross-system synchronization. \nDesign strategies for external API calls to ensure reliability at scale. \nEstablish monitoring, alerting, and observability patterns;
