In this role, you’ll set technical direction for the team while staying hands-on across the entire stack, from React front-ends to C#/.NET services, distributed message-driven systems, and AWS infrastructure.\nThis is a Staff-level role for experienced full-stack engineers who already lead a team’s technical direction. You’ll mentor other engineers, drive architecture decisions, and lead how the team adopts AI-assisted development in everyday work.\nLocation: United States or Canada\nRequirements\n10+ years of professional software engineering experience, most of it in full-stack roles covering both front-end and back-end systems.\nCurrent or recent technical leadership as a Tech Lead, Staff Engineer, or owner of a production system’s core architecture, with a track record of mentoring engineers.\nDeep expertise in C#/.NET server-side development, including APIs, services, data access, and performance tuning.\nProficiency with React and modern front-end development, including component design, state management, and responsive UI.\nExperience building distributed systems and microservices for cloud-native SaaS products at scale.\nProduction experience with AWS.\nWorking experience with Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, and Linux environments.\nActive, everyday use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar as part of your development workflow.\nExperience defining testing strategy and writing automated tests at various levels of abstraction.\nA track record of measurable impact on performance, reliability, or security.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nComfort with navigating ambiguity and adapting in a fast-changing environment.\nPost-secondary education in software engineering, computer or electrical engineering, computer science, math, or a related field, or equivalent experience.\nWill be a plus\nPython or other programming languages, and shell scripting.\nExperience with distributed data stores and search systems such as Elasticsearch, Redis, or PostgreSQL JSONB.\nObservability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.\nInfrastructure-as-code (e.g., AWS CDK) and container-based deployment pipelines.\nExperience with message-driven systems and real-time features (e.g., WebSockets).\nBuilding integration platforms or partner APIs (REST, GraphQL).\nExperience bringing AI technologies into products, such as natural language search or agentic workflows.\nBackground in security-conscious or highly regulated environments, including handling sensitive data.\nResponsibilities\nAct as the technical lead for the team: set technical direction, plan delivery, and unblock engineers.\nAnalyze requirements, break down cross-team initiatives, and provide effort estimates and sequencing.\nOwn the end-to-end architecture of robust, performant, and secure solutions across the stack.\nDevelop efficient, modular, and maintainable software on both the front-end and back-end.\nLead technical design through design docs, RFCs, and architecture decision records.\nRaise the bar in code reviews and mentor senior and intermediate engineers.\nLead investigations into the most complex defects and production issues.\nDrive performance and security engineering, including performance testing and vulnerability scanning in CI/CD.\nGuide best practices for building, delivering, and maintaining multiple projects in Azure DevOps and on Kubernetes.\nChampion AI-assisted development and help the team adopt tools like Claude Code and Cursor effectively.\nUnderstand the needs of forensic investigators and use that knowledge to shape product and architecture decisions.\nCommunicate clearly with stakeholders and build alignment across
