The Food Handling Function reports to the Master\n\n2. The Food Handling Function must fully adhere to the guidance in Food Safety\n\n3. If any of the guidance in Food Safety cannot be maintained the Master must be informed.\n\n4. Comply with the regulations of the company safety management system.\n\nSpecific Area of Responsibility:\n\n1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. The Cook is responsible for the preparation of meals and cleaning of the vessels Galley pantries and refrigerators.\n\nAssist deck crew with mooring operations.\n\nAdhere to company HSE policy observe all safety procedures as required and conduct himself safely and responsibly.\n\nHave a comprehensive knowledge of all safety equipment available on board the tugboat and be aware of their specific locations and\n\nable to use them in emergency situations.\n\nHave basic knowledge of towing operations and be able to deal with mooring ropes and towing winches and assist deck hands in mooring\n\noperations.\n\nTake part in all training exercises performed by the tugboat and train to deal with emergency situations.\n\nEnsure galley waste is disposed off according to ships waste management plan.\n\nRequired/Preferred Education and competencies:\n\n Two years experience on board a marine vessel preferably a tugboat\n\n Valid Seaman Book\n\n Valid Seafarer Medical Certificate\n\n Valid Cooks medical certificate\n\n Valid Cooks medical certificate\n\nPossession of STCW Certification (A-II/5)\n\n Personal Survival Techniques (STCW A-VI/1-1)\n\n Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities (STCW A-VI/1-4)\n\n Basic Safety Training (STCW A-VI/1 Manila)\n\n Elementary First Aid (STCW A-VI/1-3)\n\n Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (STCW A-VI/1-2)\n\n STCW - Cooks Certificate (Food Hygiene)\nBuilding a Diverse Workplace\nIn Svitzer we value the diversity of our talent and will always strive to recruit the best person for the job we value diversity in all its forms including but not limited to gender age nationality race sexual orientation disability or religious beliefs.
