The way we do business is governed by our company core values: Constant Care, Humbleness, Uprightness, Our Employees, Our Name.\nWhat you will do\nYour key responsibilities will be:\nMarine standards:\nEnsure Svitzer’s HSEQ and Marine Standards policies and procedures are adhered to by employees, contractors, and other stakeholders at all times.\nTake initiative for proper and timely action in all areas of HSSEQ and Marine Standards to protect Svitzer Bangladesh trustworthiness.\nDevelop, implement, and maintain the company safety management system in accordance with OVMSA, ISM, MLC and ISPS Code regulations.\nKeep abreast of new developments within the industry on HSSEQ regulations, standards, and best practices.\nConduct and manage internal audits and the local administration of the audit plan in compliance with OVMSA, ISM, ISPS and any other subsequent standards adopted by the company.\nLiaise with country operation team to ensure country specific legislation relating to HSSEQ is reviewed and disseminated where necessary.\nProduce monthly and other reports in relation to HSSEQ matters including customer / client reports.\nDevelop and manage the implementation of local safety initiatives as part of the company safety cultural development.\nConduct/coordinate local incident investigations under the guidance of Country Operations/Regional Head of Marine Standards.\nEnsure incident records and statistics, including computer-based Incident reports and minutes produced by the country operation, are monitored and maintained.\nReview vessel Master’s responses to the annual management review of safety and quality systems covering the Bangladesh operations under the relevant flag of registry.\nLiaise with Flag registry and local Class authorities for external audit schedules and requirements, including reporting of close of external audit findings.\nEnsure all vessels comply to Global and Regional Safety KPIs and Objectives.\nOperations management:\nIn addition to the main job role responsibilities, the following duties may be reasonably required from time to time, including coverage for the Operations Manager during periods of absence as delegated by the Country Manager:\nAttend briefings and meetings with Client Representatives as the Company Representative.\nDevelop, review, and improve Operational Procedures at the Offshore Operations.\nConduct regular Risk Assessments on the Operations, identify areas of high risk and potential improvement, and develop and implement measures to improve operational efficiency and safe operational practices and procedures.\nEnsure ship’s husbandry is carried out onboard and the vessels are maintained to the expected Svitzer Standards at all time.\nEnsure all crew have the required trainings in accordance with the company Training Matrix.\nCarry out internal Svitzer OVMSA training for all crew onboard the vessels.\nWho we are looking for\nTo be successful in this role, you will bring:\nUniversity degree or equivalent in marine / nautical sciences.\nFormal qualifications in HSSEQ such as NEBOSH or equivalent is preferred.\nMinimum 5 years of HSSEQ experience in the marine service operations environment.\nPrevious experience as a Marine Officer (preferably as senior officer) is preferred.\nRecognized incident and root cause analysis investigator qualifications.\nRecognized ISM, ISPS auditor qualifications.\nDPA and CSO certification is preferred.\nFluency in written and oral English is mandatory.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office programs.\nSelf-motivated, pro-active, and well-organised.\nIn-depth knowledge of the maritime industry and flag state requirements.\nStrong communication and people skills.\nAble to work well under pressure and highly motivated.\nBuilding a Diverse Workplace\nIn Svitzer we value the diversity of our talent and will always strive to recruit the best person for the job - we value diversity in all its forms, including but not limited to gender, age, nationality, race, sexual orientation, disability, or religious beliefs.
