Reporting to the General Manager, you will take full ownership of operations, ensuring safety and compliance with all regulations, continuously drive operational excellence and customer focused solutions in terms of timely, reliable and safe service, and ensure good client and authority relations at all times.\nThis is a hands-on role, in a small team, where you will be fully responsible for the full end-to-end operations for our fleet of 4 ASD tug vessels.\nOffering uninterrupted marine solutions requires not only the best equipment but also the best people. and support of the fleet, crew and onshore office based in the Port Terminal of Batangas, Philippines.\n\nFull ownership of operations, ensuring safety and compliance with all regulations, operational efficiency and excellence, and good client and authority relationships at all times.\n\nDirect supervision of the Captains and Chief Engineers, ensuring that vessel/s are crewed, operated, and maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and customer expectations.\n\nContinuously driving operational excellence and customer focused solutions in terms of timely, reliable and safe service.\n\nContinuously promoting safety awareness and working practices to enhance the safety and operational culture of Batangas Bay Towage Inc (BBTI) and Svitzer as a world leading towage provider.\n\nOperations management:\nManagement and administration of marine operations matters, including oversight of vessel maintenance and deck-side technical matters.\n\nEnsure compliance with all Class, Flag and Statutory Certification for all vessels, liaising closely with the Technical Superintendent for technical/engineering side of surveys.\n\nPreparation of docking, class surveys, maintenance and repair budgets, and monitoring of expenditure, preparation of docking specifications and reports.\n\nManagement of Senior Crew to ensure compliance with BBTI and Svitzer policies and procedures at all times.\n\nOversight of day-to-day Crew Administration to ensure vessels are always properly manned.\n\nAct as visible and frequent management presence in the fleet, assessing crew for improvement areas and providing and/or arranging training as necessary.\n\nEnsure all crews have appropriate training to meet BBTI and Svitzer OVMSA requirements and deliver training required to meet OVMSA compliance.\n\nOversight and management of crew to ensure a safe working environment is maintained always.\n\nMonitor and ensure all crews conduct regular safety drills and exercises to ensure the required standards are maintained on all vessels.\n\nConduct simulator exercises with Crew to ensure competence standards are met and maintained.\n\nEnsure BBTI and Svitzer’s HSEQ and Marine Standards policies and procedures are adhered to by employees, contractors and other stakeholders at all times.\n\nEnsure all incidents and accidents are reported, investigated and closed out as mandated by Authorities, Client requirements and all BBTI and Svitzer policies and procedures.\n\nEstablish and maintain a close collaboration with Client’s representatives, including leading daily/weekly/monthly meetings.\n\nEngage with Client on all operational matters, including present performance statistics in meetings as required and discuss areas for operational improvement with the Client.\n\nEnsure Client’s representatives have a full understanding of tug capabilities and how these shall be maintained across operations.\n\nAddress any Client concerns on delivery of the service, ensuring high level of customer service always.\n\nAct as BBTI and Svitzer Representative towards the Port Authority and maritime departments regarding vessel certificates and manning documents.\n\nCrew management:\nOversight of day-to-day crew management including crew rostering.\n\nOversight and control of the recruitment, selection and training of vessel Senior Crew in compliance with Svitzer processes and procedures.\n\nOversight of crew certification compliance and inductions, ensuring compliance is up to date at all times.\n\nOversight and control of succession plans for deck officer positions within the operation, ensuring adequate training plans in place for existing and newly recruited crew members.\n\nFinance management:\nProvide crewing, operational and technical budget inputs for annual budgets and forecasts.\n\nInitiation of local purchases to approved financial limits.\n\nControl and optimisation of operational costs including but not limited to overtime when applicable.\n\nImplement operational efficiencies to reduce day-to-day operational costs.\n\nOther:\nOther duties as may be reasonably required from time to time, including provide coverage for other management positions during periods of absence as delegated by the General Manager.\n\nWho we are looking for\nTo be successful in this role, you will bring:\nValid Master Mariner Certificate of Competency (CoC)\n\nTertiary qualifications in relevant business or marine management is an advantage\n\nOperational experience in harbour towage operations (bow to bow) and ASD marine propulsion units\n\nPrevious similar role experience in the management of marine service operations\n\nDetailed knowledge of applicable classification, flag state and port authority requirements.\n\nProven experience in project management is an advantage\n\nSound financial management knowledge and analytical skills\n\nFluency in written and oral English\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office programs and comfortable using other online systems and tools.\n\nStructured and data driven approach\n\nExcellent organisation, time management and planning skills with ability to think conceptually while managing the detail\n\nBusiness acumen and influencing skills.\n\nEffective stakeholder management skills up to national port authority and client's senior/executive management level\n\nExcellent communication skills across multiple levels in the organisation and with external and internal stakeholders.\n\nHigh level of professionalism, honesty and
