We are defined by our purpose-to help navigate challenges, unlock potential, and achieve the extraordinary.\n What will you be doing?\nWe're seeking a talented qualified Accountant with relevant experience in an accountancy practice setting to provide clients with an efficient and effective service, through the control and efficient use of the department resources and by performing the work for clients within the portfolio. You will liaise with other departments to ensure close liaison on client affairs and assisting in administration tasks to ensure a smooth running of the department.\nThis is a permanent role to be based at either our Edinburgh, Stirling or Kirkcaldy office, with office attendance expected to be 4 days per week - speak to your recruiter for more details.\nAs an Assistant Manager your responsibilities will include among others\nPreparing accounts for a range of companies from small up to medium and large sized companies under FRS 102 including groups and consolidations\nSupport junior team members with the development of their technical skills\nManage a portfolio of clients to deliver work to high standards and in timescales required by clients and other departments of the firm\nEstablish relationship with key contacts at the client\nEnsure that clients receive an efficient and proactive service and expectations are exceeded\nIdentify issues and agree resolution with client Partner or Director, ensuring they are up to date with the job’s progress\n\n Skills and Experience\nTo be successful in this role, you should have\nDemonstrable experience in practice with OMBs preparing accounts under FRS 102\nConsiderable experience in a client-facing capacity\nDemonstrable accounts experience gained within a professional services firm\nDemonstrable ability to organise self and others, such that you can work on several different assignments at one time\nAbility to pro-actively monitor costs against budget for individual clients\nDesired\nQualified accountant (ACA, CA, ACCA) or equivalent\nIRIS\nXero\n As a colleague here at S&W you will have access to benefits that include\nCompetitive salary\nPrivate medical insurance\nLife assurance\nPension contribution\nHybrid working model (role dependent)\nGenerous holiday package\nOption to purchase additional holiday\nShared parental leave\nCycle to work scheme\nSeason ticket loan\nEye care support\nWe are proud to value the differences that a diverse workforce brings, representative of society and our clients.
