In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing and executing tax research projects, with a focus on R&D tax incentives and credits within the IT/ Software sector.\nAs an Assistant Manager your responsibilities will include:\nSupport and lead on technical discussions with the software team at the client to establish which of the activities undertaken on a project meet the R&D tax criteria as set out in the DSIT guidelines. \nPrepare and review technical reports and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.\nLead and coordinate on R&D tax engagements, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outputs\nAnalyse complex issues and provide well-reasoned solutions to clients and team members\nStay abreast of changes in UK tax legislation, particularly those related to R&D tax credits\nManage and mentor junior team members, overseeing their work and professional development\nLiaise with HMRC and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients when necessary\nContribute to the development of new service offerings and methodologies in R&D tax\nCollaborate with other departments to provide comprehensive tax solutions to clients\nEnsure compliance with internal quality control procedures and professional standards\n To be successful in this role, you should have:\nBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field \nPrevious experience in R&D tax field\nProven experience in managing projects and teams\nAdvanced knowledge of UK tax laws and regulations, particularly those related to R&D\nExpertise in UK tax legislation and HMRC guidelines\nProficiency in tax research software and databases\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\n As a colleague here at S&W you will have access to benefits that include\nCompetitive salary\n\nPrivate medical insurance\n\nLife assurance\n\nPension contribution\n\nHybrid working model (role dependent)\n\nGenerous holiday package\n\nOption to purchase additional holiday\n\nShared parental leave\n\nFully funded training towards professional qualifications\n\nCycle to work scheme\n\nSeason ticket loan\n\nEye care support\n\nWe are proud to value the differences that a diverse workforce brings, representative of society and our clients.
