You will work on complex problems, build reliable software and have a visible impact on our members and our business.\n\n HQ & Customer Service\n\n SwapServices\n\n 1 year\n\n Sep 30, 2026\n\nWhat you will do\n\n Design, build and maintain backend services for Subscription Management.\n\n Work on complex domain problems involving subscriptions, pricing, billing, payments and customer lifecycle changes.\n\n Translate business needs into practical and maintainable technical solutions.\n\n Take ownership of the systems you build in production, including monitoring, operational improvements and incident support.\n\n Help evolve the architecture of Subscription Management to support future business requirements.\n\n Identify risks, dependencies and inconsistencies in requirements, and communicate them early.\n\n Collaborate with Product, Design, Data, Operations and other engineering teams.\n\n Contribute to technical standards, design discussions and improvements to the way we work.\n\n Support other engineers through mentoring, pairing and constructive code reviews.\n\n Communicate important technical decisions through design documents, presentations and other suitable channels.\n\nThe gear you need:\n\n Several years of professional experience building backend software.\n\n Strong experience with C# and .NET.\n\n Experience designing and building APIs and distributed systems.\n\n Experience with relational databases, preferably Microsoft SQL Server.\n\n A strong understanding of automated testing, CI/CD, observability and secure development.\n\n Experience operating software in production and investigating incidents.\n\n Experience with Azure and Docker.\n\n You have hands-on experience with AI-enabled engineering tools, or you are a strong enthusiast who actively explores their practical use.\n\n You are eager to grow your AI skills and help colleagues grow theirs.\n\n The ability to work independently on complex problems and make sound technical decisions.\n\n Clear communication skills, both with technical and non-technical colleagues.\n\n A pragmatic mindset: you care about quality and long-term maintainability, while also delivering value incrementally.\n\n An interest in understanding complex business domains and improving them through software.\n\nYou do not need prior experience in the Subscription Management domain. We are looking for strong backend engineering skills and the ability to learn a complex business domain.\n\nAI is already an important part of how we work at Swapfiets. You will collaborate with our strong AI team and use leading AI tools to improve how we build software and solve problems.
