We lead in intelligent traffic management our products include Intelligent Traffic Systems, Road markings, Parking solutions, EV charging\n As an Apprentice Engineer at SWARCO, you'll have the opportunity to develop your engineering skills whilst working alongside experienced Engineers across our Urban portfolio, including traffic signals, signs and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) equipment.\nYou'll gain hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, testing and fault-finding of roadside technology, supporting the systems that help keep traffic moving safely and efficiently.\nAs part of your apprenticeship, you'll combine practical on-the-job training with structured learning, working towards a recognised engineering qualification.\nYour day-to-day responsibilities will include:\nSupporting Engineers with planned and reactive maintenance activities.\n\nLearning how to inspect, maintain, test and repair traffic signals, signs and associated ITS equipment.\n\nAssisting with fault-finding and identifying technical issues under supervision.\n\nDeveloping an understanding of electrical and electronic engineering principles.\n\nWorking safely on highways and customer sites, following Health & Safety procedures.\n\nLearning to use engineering tools, equipment and technical systems correctly.\n\nCompleting worksheets, training records and apprenticeship assessments.\n\nWorking with experienced colleagues to develop your practical skills and technical knowledge.\n\nYou'll be supported throughout your apprenticeship, gradually taking on more responsibility as your skills, confidence and competence develop.\n We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic about engineering, enjoys practical problem-solving and is keen to learn new skills.\nYou'll need:\nGCSEs in English and Maths, or equivalent qualifications, at the level required for the apprenticeship programme.\n\nAn interest in electrical/electronic engineering, technology or how things work.\n\nA willingness to learn and complete the required apprenticeship training and assessments.\n\nA practical approach to problem-solving and good attention to detail.\n\nGood communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.\n\nA positive attitude towards Health & Safety and following instructions.\n\nReliability, enthusiasm and a willingness to develop new skills.\n\nWillingness to travel to different work locations and work outdoors as required.\n\nPrevious engineering experience isn't necessary, although any practical experience, technical studies or interest in electrical/electronic systems would be an advantage.\n Interested?\nPlease apply by clicking on the apply button.\nApplications are shortlisted on a rolling basis, and we reserve the right to interview and appoint before any advertised closing date.
