We are looking for an experienced CAD Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Melsonby, where you will play a key role in developing high-quality electro-mechanical product designs that support our manufacturing and project delivery teams.\n CAD Design Engineer\nLocation: Melsonby\nWhat you'll do\nAs a CAD Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing and maintaining detailed 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and engineering documentation using Autodesk Inventor. Working closely with Electrical Design Engineers and cross-functional teams, you will ensure designs are accurate, manufacturable, and delivered to project timescales.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nCreating detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using Autodesk Inventor.\nProducing manufacturing drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings and complete drawing packages.\nCreating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs).\nCarrying out structural analysis using FEA simulations.\nDeveloping and programming iLogic functions and other design automation tools.\nWorking with Autodesk Vault to manage product data and version control.\nCollaborating with Electrical Design Engineers to deliver complete design packages.\nProducing drawing sets for product approvals and supporting project model reviews.\nMaintaining CAD document archives and supporting project close-out activities.\nIdentifying opportunities for continuous improvement across design processes and documentation.\nSupporting production by preparing production packs and assisting with large-scale engineering projects.\nWhat we're looking for\nYou'll be a motivated and detail-oriented engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges and working collaboratively with colleagues across engineering, manufacturing and production. You'll be able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and maintain a high standard of accuracy in everything you produce.\n What you'll bring\nEssential\nHNC or HND in Engineering or a relevant discipline.\nA minimum of 5 years' experience in a CAD Design role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.\nAt least 3 years' experience using Autodesk Inventor.\nExperience producing manufacturing drawings and applying Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles.\nExperience managing Bills of Materials and CAD data through ERP/PDM systems.\nStrong working knowledge of Autodesk Vault Professional.\nExperience producing assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, layouts and detailed component drawings.\nExcellent understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, tolerances and design constraints.\nExtensive experience using and programming Autodesk iLogic and other CAD automation functions.\nStrong attention to detail with excellent organisational and time management skills.\nEffective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.\nFull UK Driving Licence.\nRight to work in the UK.\nDesirable\nExperience carrying out Finite Element Analysis (FEA).\nKnowledge of structural design principles.\nExperience supporting product lifecycle management processes.\nContinuous improvement experience within an engineering environment.\n Why join SWARCO?\nAt SWARCO, you'll be joining a global business that values innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
