Start making an impact with us today and join teams in over 70 countries.\nWe have a requirement for a Linux Software Development Engineer to join our engineers' teams in Leicester working on UK integration of the most widely deployed Traffic Light Controller in the world.\n What you will do\nYou will play a key role in the ongoing development of our software products, help maintain the highest quality and security standards, design new services and enhance existing ones and generally get to work on cutting edge systems development for the future of our urban environments.\nTo develop Linux software for a traffic light controller in the UK.\nTo co-develop supporting tools, primarily in Python.\nDevelop an understanding of regulations, market requirements and traffic control in the UK and turn that into actionable changes for a global product in a local market.\nImplement, document and test software solutions using C++ and possibly GoLang and/or Python.\nDesign new applications and enhance existing ones.\nWork with colleagues in an international environment\nDaily work in an agile environment, develop and optimize processes and best practices.\nInterpret customer requirements specifications generating functional requirements documentation for software development.\nMaintain software development to company quality standards while helping to attain the highest security standards for our systems.\nLooking at improvements to the development process to maintain the leading-edge software development tools and techniques are used for continuous improvement.\nWhat we offer\nAs well as providing a competitive salary and benefits package, we actively run employee opinion surveys as part of our drive to provide a comfortable and supportive working environment.
