This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with an electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical or manufacturing background who enjoys practical work and takes pride in producing high-quality products.\nYou’ll play an important role in assembling, wiring, testing and preparing a range of SWARCO products and equipment, working from technical drawings and specifications to ensure everything is completed safely, accurately and to the required standard.\nWhat you will do\nAs a Production Assembler, you’ll work as part of our manufacturing team, carrying out a variety of electrical, mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly activities.\nYour day-to-day responsibilities will include:\nAssembling electrical, electronic and mechanical products and equipment\n\nPreparing cables, connectors and wiring looms\n\nCarrying out cabinet wiring and fitting electrical components, including transformers\n\nAssembling traffic signal controllers, variable message signs, enclosures and associated equipment\n\nAssembling mechanical components, including prisms and trailers\n\nReading and following technical drawings, specifications, Bills of Materials (BOMs) and kit lists\n\nCarrying out basic functional testing of completed products\n\nUsing hand and power tools safely and effectively\n\nSupporting PCB assembly/repair and basic mechanical assembly activities\n\nPreparing and fitting sign faces and assembling MDU units\n\nCarrying out self-quality checks and reporting any issues or non-conformances\n\nEnsuring work is completed safely and in line with SWARCO's Health & Safety procedures\n\nMaintaining a clean, organised and efficient working environment in line with 5S principles\n\nSupporting continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives\n\nAssisting with the packing and preparation of finished products for dispatch\n\nYou may also be required to move between different manufacturing cells depending on production requirements and support general factory improvement activities when required.\nWhat we are looking for\nWe’re looking for someone who is practical, reliable and detail-focused, with the ability to follow technical instructions and take pride in delivering quality work.\nIdeally, you will have:\nExperience of working in an electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical or manufacturing environment\n\nRelevant electrical, mechanical or manufacturing training or qualification\n\nThe ability to read and follow technical drawings, specifications, BOMs or similar documentation\n\nGood attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work\n\nAn awareness of quality and safe working practices\n\nThe ability to use hand tools and, ideally, power tools\n\nGood communication skills\n\nThe ability to work independently as well as part of a team\n\nA reliable and proactive approach to your work\n\nThe flexibility to manage changing workloads and priorities\n\nDesirable:\nExperience working with traffic signal controllers, variable message signs or similar equipment\n\nPrevious experience of product testing\n\nExperience with PCB assembly or repair\n\nExperience working within a 5S or continuous improvement environment\n\nDon't have traffic industry experience?
