We lead in intelligent traffic management our products include Intelligent Traffic Systems, Road markings, Parking solutions, EV charging\n We are looking for a Service Delivery Manager to join our SWARCO UK & Ireland team, based at our Exeter Depot, taking responsibility for the successful delivery of maintenance activities across our traffic signals, signs and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) portfolio.\nYou'll manage the day-to-day operation of your allocated contracts, leading a team of Engineers and ensuring we deliver a safe, reliable and high-quality service to our customers.\nThis is a hands-on operational management role, where you'll balance people management, customer relationships, commercial performance and Health & Safety, ensuring contracts are delivered efficiently and in line with agreed requirements.\nWhat you'll be doing\nManaging the day-to-day delivery of planned and reactive maintenance activities across allocated contracts.\n\nLeading, supporting and developing Engineers and other operational colleagues.\n\nEnsuring maintenance activities are completed in line with contractual requirements, service levels and customer expectations.\n\nManaging operational resources, workloads, standby arrangements and priorities to ensure effective service delivery.\n\nBuilding and maintaining strong working relationships with customers, acting as a key point of contact for operational and contract matters.\n\nMonitoring contract performance, identifying risks and implementing improvements to service delivery.\n\nManaging contract costs, budgets and commercial performance, supporting the achievement of financial targets.\n\nEnsuring compliance with Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements, promoting safe working practices across all activities.\n\nSupporting recruitment, performance management, absence management, training and development within the team.\n\nWorking closely with Regional Operations Managers, Project Managers and other departments to coordinate resources and deliver operational priorities.\n\nEnsuring operational records, reporting and documentation are accurate and completed within required timescales.\n\nIdentifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, customer service and team performance.\n\nYou'll need to be comfortable managing competing priorities, supporting your team and making decisions to keep operations running effectively.\nWhat we offer\nAs well as providing the salary and benefits package, SWARCO actively runs employee opinion surveys as part of our drive to provide a comfortable and supportive working environment. We will support your development, and you will also receive:\n25 days Plus Bank holidays for your location of work\nDay off on your birthday\nEmployer pension contributions\nEmployee Assistance Programme\nLife assurance up to 6x salary\nFull training and development opportunities\nThis role comes with a brand new company car including personal use (A huge benefit with todays fuel prices!)\n We're looking for an experienced operational manager with a strong understanding of engineering service delivery, excellent people management skills and the ability to build effective customer relationships.\nYou'll need:\nExperience managing operational teams within an engineering, maintenance, highways, traffic management or similar technical environment.\n\nA good understanding of contract delivery, planned and reactive maintenance and operational resource management.\n\nProven people management experience, including supporting performance, development and day-to-day team management.\n\nStrong Health & Safety awareness and experience ensuring safe working practices.\n\nGood commercial awareness, including managing costs, budgets and contract performance.\n\nStrong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.\n\nThe ability to manage competing priorities, make decisions and deliver against contractual requirements.\n\nGood IT skills and experience using operational reporting and management systems.\n\nA full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the operational area.\n\nDesirable:\nPrevious experience within traffic signals, signs or the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) sector.\n\nExperience managing highways maintenance contracts.\n\nRelevant technical, engineering or management qualifications.\n\nSMSTS or other relevant Health & Safety management training.\n\nExperience working with local authorities, National Highways or other highways customers.\n\nExperience supporting operational improvements and developing team capability.\n\nYou'll be a confident and approachable manager who leads by example, supports their team and takes ownership of delivering a safe, reliable and high-quality service to our customers.\n Interested?\nApplications are shortlisted on a rolling basis, and we reserve the right to interview and appoint before any advertised closing date.
