engineering leadership.\nMentor backend engineers through code reviews, pairing, and career growth.\nDesign and develop scalable backend systems for POS operations across retail, restaurants, and multi-location merchants.\nBuild and maintain secure, high-performance RESTful APIs for web, mobile, and in-store clients.\nOwn modules for sales transactions, inventory, customer management, loyalty, and reporting data feeds.\nIntegrate payment gateways, POS hardware services, and third-party business systems.\nOptimize MySQL (and future PostgreSQL) for high-volume transactional workloads and reporting use cases.\nImplement authentication, authorization, and multi-tenant data isolation best practices.\nMigration and Modernization:\nLead incremental migration from the Laravel monolith to modern service architecture (e. g., NestJS/TypeScript services).\nDefine API contracts and integration boundaries between legacy and new services.\nIdentify high-risk areas (payments, inventory sync, reporting) and prioritize safe migration paths.\nRequirements:\nStrong hands-on experience with Node, NestJS, PHP, and Laravel (current production stack).\nExpertise in MySQL: schema design, indexing, query optimization, transactions, and data integrity at scale.\nStrong understanding of RESTful API development.\nExperience working with POS, retail, restaurant, ERP, inventory, or e-commerce applications and payment gateway integrations.\nAuthentication and authorization: JWT, OAuth, role-based access, multi-tenant scoping.\nStrong understanding of database indexing, transactions, and data integrity.\nGit, code review workflows, and collaborative development practices.\nFamiliarity with Linux-based deployment
