The ideal candidate approaches complex challenges with simplicity, utilizing modern tools and techniques to deliver efficient solutions.\nThis position works closely with Product, Platform, and Architecture teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery of joint initiatives.\nIn this role you will own the reliability, security, and cost-efficiency of Providence’s enterprise data platform. You will automate and monitor production pipelines, resolve incidents and partner with engineering and analytics teams to meet strict SLAs.\nWhat you’ll own\nAutomation and monitoring batch/streaming ELT/ETL pipelines across cloud services and Snowflake; keep data fresh and\naccurate.\nTriaging failures, performing root-cause analyses and post-mortems, and continuously reducing MTTR.\nOrchestrating schedules and dependencies (e.g., Ctrl-M) and managing connectors (in Fivetran/HVR).\nBuilding operational automation with SQL, Python, and shell (Bash/PowerShell) on Linux.\nImplementing observability: logging, alerting, data-quality checks, audits, and runbooks.\nOptimizing Snowflake performance and spend (warehouses, caching).\nEnforcing access controls and secrets management, supporting compliance and audit needs.\nPartnering with product/analytics teams; documenting procedures and providing reliable on-call support (rotational).\nEssential Skills\nStrong SQL, plus hands-on Python and shell scripting (Bash/PowerShell) on Linux.\nExperience with cloud computing and data warehousing on relational platforms.\nSolid understanding of OLAP/dimensional modeling and RDBMS fundamentals.\nKnowledge of semi/unstructured data (JSON/Parquet) and API integrations.\nFamiliarity with open-source ELT/ETL tooling.\nGit-based workflows and CI/CD basics for data deployments.\nExperience building and managing data ingestion pipelines from multiple sources into cloud data platforms.\nWorking knowledge of Snowflake, including database objects, warehouses, and basic query optimization.\nNice to have\nSnowflake administration experience (account management, RBAC, resource monitors, storage/warehouse configuration, network policies).\nFivetran and/or HVR (Fivetran HVR) experience or equivalent CDC/replication tools.\nSnowflake operations expertise (performance tuning, Streams/Tasks, Snowpark), plus knowledge of Snowflake AI features.\nStreamlit for lightweight internal apps and operational dashboards.\nExperience with enterprise schedulers (e.g., Ctrl-M) and data-quality/observability platforms.\nBackground in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare/HIPAA) and service management (e.g., ServiceNow).\nWe are accepting applications from candidates who reside within 65 miles of:\nRenton, Redmond, or Seattle, WA\nPortland, OR\nNapa or Irvine, CA\nLubbock, TX\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience; senior-level hands-on ownership of production data operations.\n1 or more year of related experience in Snowflake, CTRL-M, and ADF.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMaster's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience\nSalary Range by Location:\nCalifornia: All Northern California - Except Humboldt: Min: $52.79, Max: $81.94\nCalifornia: All Southern California - Except Bakersfield: Min: $47.05, Max: $73.04\nOregon: Portland Service Area: Min: $45.14, Max: $70.07\nTexas: Min: $34.43, Max: $53.44\nWashington: Western: Min: $47.05, Max: $73.04\nWhy Join Providence?\nOur best-in-class benefits are uniquely designed to support you and your family in staying well, growing professionally, and achieving financial security.
