You will contribute to the development, testing, deployment, maintenance and support of a business-critical application used by financial institutions worldwide to validate and optimise their sanctions screening systems.\nYou will:\nWork as part of a cross-functional Scrum development team, supported by a Product Manager, a Product Owner and a technical lead located in Europe.\nCollaborate with stakeholders to understand user stories and implement solutions aligned with agreed requirements and technical designs.\nContribute to the development, maintenance and enhancement of Java-based components of the STS product and its supported tooling.\nContribute to technical discussions and design reviews, providing input while following established architectural and design guidelines.\nApply non-functional requirements such as performance, security, resilience and operational stability when implementing solutions.\nContribute to build, deployment and CI/CD activities supporting reliable and repeatable releases.\nParticipate in code reviews and ensure that assigned code contributions follow agreed coding standards and quality practices.\nCollaborate with testers to implement and maintain automated tests and to improve overall software quality.\nParticipate in production support activities, including incident analysis and resolution, when required and under established support processes..\nEnsure that design, development and testing activities are performed in line with internal processes, controls and quality expectations.\nDeliver assigned components or features end-to-end under the guidance of technical leads and within team commitments.\nDemonstrate a continuous improvement mindset and contribute ideas to improve the way we work, the tools we use and the software we produce.\nCollaborate effectively with team members located in Malaysia and Europe within a distributed and multicultural environment.\nQualifications\nSolid knowledge and hands-on experience in Java 21 development, including object-oriented programming principles and common design patterns.\nHands-on experience with the Spring framework.\nHands-on experience with automated testing technologies (JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber, etc.).\nHands-on experience with cloud technologies and containerisation\nHands-on experience with common software development tools and platforms (e.g. Git, IntelliJ, Maven, Jenkins, Jira, Windsurf, etc.).\nExperience with messaging and parsing technologies (e.g. parsing, validation and transformation of XML, XSD, XSLT and JSON).\nExperience with front-end technologies such as Struts, JavaScript and modern web development practices is a strong asset.\nQuality-oriented and collaborative team player with an Agile mindset.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured and pragmatic approach.\nProactive and delivery-oriented, comfortable working hands-on to meet team objectives.\nAbility to work effectively in a distributed and multicultural environment, with guidance from senior team members when needed.\nExperience with scripting and automation using Bash and/or Python is a strong asset\nExperience or strong interest in financial messaging standards and payment systems (e.g. MT, ISO 20022) is a strong asset.\nExposure to CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, CloudBees) is a strong asset.\nFluent in English (spoken and written).\nWhat we offer\nWe give you the freedom to be yourself.
