You will be working at the cutting edge of satellite navigation technology, designing and implementing advanced GNSS algorithms within Swift's correction service. You will provide technical leadership across the Skylark engineering group, set the bar for engineering excellence, and own the full lifecycle of features from problem definition and prototyping through implementation, verification, and release.\nAs a Staff Engineer at Swift, you will be fundamental to the company's success. You will turn complex problems into solutions that meet the goals of the business while maintaining alignment with the broader technical vision and Skylark architecture.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nDefine, design, implement and document new features in Swift's GNSS corrections engine, with a focus on advanced user positioning algorithms (PPP/RTK), orbit/clock estimation and atmospheric modeling.\nProvide technical leadership on challenging, cross-cutting engineering projects spanning atmospheric modeling, correction generation, and message formatting.\nTake complex problems from target markets and customers and distill them into coherent technical strategies and execution plans.\nDrive clean software engineering practices through code reviews, design reviews, and architectural guidance to teammates and other Skylark teams.\nAct as a standard bearer for new technologies and techniques in GNSS positioning, balancing innovation against operational pragmatism.\nProactively address technical debt and design systems for maximum utility across the Skylark product line.\nCollaborate with the team tech lead, PMs, and adjacent teams to ensure technical alignment across releases.\nMentor engineers across the team, including senior ICs, and contribute to the development of the broader Skylark engineering group.\nRequired Skills/Abilities\nStrong background in GNSS positioning algorithms, ideally PPP, RTK, or SSR-based correction systems.\nDeep understanding of atmospheric effects on GNSS signals (ionosphere, troposphere) and approaches to model and mitigate them.\nDemonstrated technical leadership on large-scale projects delivered to production.\nModern C++, with the ability to write clean, performant, well-tested code.\nExperience working iteratively with strong cross-functional communication across engineering, product, and customer-facing stakeholders.\nGit or equivalent version control systems, and modern software engineering practices (CI, code review, automated testing).\nDesired Skills/Experience\nHands-on experience with estimation techniques (Kalman/least-squares estimation, multi-kernel approaches, Gaussian processes).\nScientific computing and signal processing fundamentals.\nStrong proficiency in Python for scientific analysis and algorithmic prototyping.\nSoftware architecture design at the service or system level.\nCloud-based GNSS correction services and the operational constraints they bring.\nOpen-source contribution and thought leadership in the GNSS or geospatial community.\nAn enthusiastic, self-motivated approach to learning and exploring new technologies.\nSwift Navigation is a diverse and inclusive team.
