Associate Software Development Engineer - AI

We are looking for highly motivated individuals who can join our engineering team as aSDEs. As an aSDE, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our experienced engineers and contribute to the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge backend systems. You will gain hands-on experience with technologies like Java, Go, Elastic Cache, Elasticsearch, Kafka, SQS, DynamoDB, and other innovative tools.

Position Overview:

The Associate Software Developer Engineer role at Swiggy is the entry point into our engineering team for high-potential builders who are not yet at the SDE I level but have already shown they can ship. We work at the intersection of systems and AI, building consumer AI solutions that scale to millions of users, and we are looking for candidates who bring strong computer science fundamentals, high curiosity, high energy, and very high ownership. You won't be expected to have production experience at scale yet. What you will be expected to have is proof that you build things: PoCs, dashboards, AI experiments, hackathon projects, side projects - work you can demo and talk about in depth. As an ASDE, you will learn what it takes to turn an experiment into a production system, working alongside engineers who do this every day.

Specifically looking for the following experience for the Crew team at Swiggy:

• Hands-on experience with LLMs and AI tooling: Experience experimenting with AI agents, prompt-driven workflows, or LLM-powered features using frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph, or directly working with provider APIs such as OpenAI and Anthropic Claude.
• Strong portfolio of things you’ve built: PoCs, dashboards, AI experiments, side projects, or other hands-on work. You should be able to demo what you’ve built, explain the problem you were solving, the approach you took, and key learnings.

What qualities are we looking for?

• Minimum 6 months of internship experience at a startup or a fast-paced product company.
• Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, operating systems, networking, and databases.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language - Python, Java, Golang.
• High curiosity: you dig into how things work, ask why, and learn new tools and technologies on your own without being asked.
• High energy and very high ownership: you take a problem and run with it end to end, ask for help when blocked but never wait to be told what to do next, and care about the outcome, not just completing the task.
• Comfortable with Linux/Unix environments and basic Git workflows.
• A team player who communicates clearly, takes feedback well, and learns fast.

• Own small but real pieces of the system end to end, with the expectation that your scope grows as fast as you do.
• Learn from senior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and pairing.

Grow into an SDE I role by demonstrating ownership, engineering quality, and impact.

• B.Tech, 2025/2026 graduates with academic knowledge in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
