Duties and responsibilities directly impact productivity, process efficiency, timeliness, profitability, and accuracy of the underwriting process.\nHigh interaction and coordination with Underwriting and other functional areas including, but not limited to Products, Accounting, Finance and Claims\nRegular interaction with internal and external customers\nReview, update, and maintain account information, data, records, and other documentation as needed, disseminate, or explain information, take direction, give instructions, and address customer complaints and queries\nConduct preliminary deal analysis; prepare applicable account data for review by Underwriters\nRead, organize, and work with detailed source documents from external customer information\nAssist the Underwriters with drafting and preparing contractual documents and invoices, and compose business correspondence as needed\nSupport Underwriters in organizing and preparing data for client/broker meetings\nActively participate on special projects, as assigned\nThere may be an opportunity for cross-training/exposure to other lines\nAbout the team\nThis role is a part of a team of Underwriting Associates and Analysts, reporting into an Operations Lead, Canada. It requires high interaction and coordination with underwriting, near-shore/off-shore, other functional areas including, but not limited to Products, Finance, Claims, Compliance and Policy Processing.\nAbout You\nKnowledge and understanding of commercial insurance principles and practices are a plus. Entry level will be considered\nExcellent computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook\nStrong attention to detail with the ability to accurately perform routine calculations related to insurance premiums, rates, policy changes, and coverage extensions including Total Insured Value (TIV) increases and extensions, using established formulas and tools.\nExperience managing underwriting documentation, including quotes, binders, policies, and records, while supporting administrative and accounting reconciliation activities. Proven ability to deliver high-quality service and meet established quality and turnaround standards.\nProven ability working in globally located team situations, understanding, and demonstrating sensitivity toward cultural differences\nDemonstrated success working collaboratively in a matrix environment\nAbility to establish priorities and to plan, coordinates, and monitor personal work plan maintaining status and oversight of multiple submissions\nStrong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain effective working relations in a multi-cultural environment\nExcellent listening, reading, written, and verbal communication skills\nFrench language skills would be an asset\nStrong customer focus and service orientation\nAdaptability to changes in tasks and priorities\nPost-secondary education or equivalent is a plus\nThe base salary hiring range for this existing position is CAD $60,000 - $80,000 . The specific base salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.
