Company details will be shared during the first conversation with our team.\nIf you're one to two years into your career and you'd rather design a steel beam, a timber frame, and a foundation in the same week than spend three years on one project's connection details, let's talk. You'll join the firm's design team, working under a PE-licensed supervisor alongside fellow EITs and drafters. Think of this role as a full-spectrum apprenticeship. You'll get the variety you need while studying for your PE, and you'll have a real shot at leading a team once you pass.\nResponsibilities\nDesign and analyze structural systems across steel, concrete, masonry, and timber for projects ranging from residential framing and foundation repairs to small commercial builds\n\nWork across a wide variety of projects on short timelines\n\nSpend 20-40% of your time in the field conducting structural inspections, foundation assessments, and forensic evaluations\n\nSupport forensic and insurance-related investigations, including fire damage, water damage, and vehicle impacts\n\nCollaborate and communicate directly with architects, contractors, homeowners, and insurance stakeholders\n\nPrepare engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and construction documents in compliance with building codes\n\nMeet weekly with your manager to review defined KPIs, so you always know where you stand and what it takes to reach the next level\n\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in civil, structural, or architectural engineering\n\n1-2 years of structural engineering experience\n\nSteel design experience preferred, especially from commercial projects\n\nResidential structural or timber design experience is also a plus\n\nTechnical proficiency with Mathcad, Bluebeam, and Autodesk products (Revit/AutoCAD)\n\nSelf-starter who wants to grow with a small, ambitious firm\n\nNot afraid to get your hands (or shoes) dirty. You'll enjoy time in the field, not just behind a monitor\n\nStrong communicator who can explain complex issues to diverse stakeholders and deliver both good and challenging news professionally\n\nCareer Path\nThis firm has kept its structure flat on purpose. The firm is growing quickly and promotes from within.\nManagement track: After you earn your PE, you'll have an opportunity within 3-5 years to become a Supervisor, leading a team of EITs and drafters and reporting to a Director\n\nTechnical track: You could specialize in the firm's fast-growing forensic engineering practice, where you'll develop expertise beyond traditional structural work, including roofing systems, glazing, and building envelopes\n\nPassing your PE brings a pay increase on its own.
