In the physical world.\nImpact:\nAs a member of our Deployment and Test Engineering team, you will operate as a critical link between our cutting edge technology development and real world operational deployment. The deployment, integration, and sustainment of Swoop technology, for mission critical customers, will usher in the advancement and reduction of time fielding these capabilities. You’ll work alongside Product and DevOps engineers to create successful technical outcomes for our customers, continuously improve our technology, and ensure post deployment that processes and deployment readiness are always evolving.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nCoordinate and execute software deployments across multiple environments (staging, testing, production)\n\nCollaborate with development and operations teams to plan and schedule deployment activities\n\nImplement and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines\n\nMonitor and troubleshoot deployment processes to ensure smooth execution and timely delivery. Address and resolve any issues or failures in deployment processes\n\nAutomate deployment tasks where possible to reduce manual intervention and increase efficiency\n\nEnsure version control and proper documentation of deployment procedures and configurations\n\nPerform post-deployment testing to ensure functionality and performance are as expected\n\nMaintain and update deployment tools and scripts to improve reliability and automation\n\nProvide support to the development team in testing, validating, and deploying application changes\n\nWork with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI) to manage deployments and configurations\n\nEnsure compliance with security and operational standards during deployments\n\nProvide regular status updates on deployment progress and potential risks to stakeholders\n\nYou Should Have:\nActive US Top Secret Security clearance\n\n3-5+ years experience delivering, integrating, or operating technology solutions in DoD network environments (deployment, release engineering, or related roles)\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose product issues, determine root cause, troubleshoot, implement fixes, and escalate when necessary; detail-oriented with the ability to translate technical findings into actionable outcomes\n\nStrong grasp of OSI networking principles, both in general and within DoD-specific contexts\n\nAbility to operate independently with technical and non-technical parties, in dynamically changing environments, bringing excellent collaboration and communication skills (written and verbal)\n\nAbility to adapt to fast-paced environments and handle deployment issues under pressure; Demonstrated adaptability and success operating in resource-constrained environments\n\nExpertise and experience with various technologies across: CI/CD tools, containerization technology, version control systems, cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, and monitoring tools\n\nAbility and interest to travel as needed. Up to 50%, but requirements may vary\n\nBonus if you have:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field\n\nExperience writing and/or readability in Python, C, Rust, or Assembly code.\n\nScripting experience in Bash, Python, PowerShell, etc\n\nKnowledge of one or more of the following environments: Distributed Systems, Embedded Systems, Bare Metal environments, Hardware Virtualization\n\nUnderstanding and experience administering operating systems (RTOS, various Linux flavours, and Windows)\n\nKnowledge of databases and database deployment strategies\n\nSwoop Technologies is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
