We have a passion for using technology to solve business problems, working in partnership with our clients to help in achieving their goals.\nAbout the role:\nAs a Business Analyst, you will work across business and IT functions to analyse processes, support enterprise applications and deliver improvements to business-critical systems.\nWorking closely with stakeholders across the organisation, including Finance and HR, you will help translate business needs into practical technology solutions while ensuring systems remain effective, well-supported and aligned with business priorities.\nThe role combines business analysis, application support, stakeholder engagement and project delivery, offering the opportunity to contribute to both day-to-day operations and longer-term business improvements.\nAs a Business Analyst, you will:\nEngage with business stakeholders to understand requirements, identify challenges and recommend improvements to existing processes and systems.\nAnalyse, document and review business processes, workflows and information requirements to identify opportunities for greater efficiency and effectiveness.\nProvide second-line support for enterprise applications, investigating issues, coordinating resolutions and supporting ongoing system maintenance.\nTranslate business requirements into clear functional specifications, system enhancements and technology solutions.\nWork closely with technical teams, application owners and third-party suppliers to deliver system changes and improvements.\nSupport the planning, coordination and delivery of projects, ensuring agreed scope, timelines, budgets and quality standards are achieved.\nMaintain accurate documentation covering business systems, application architecture, support arrangements and associated processes.\nManage relationships with application vendors, supporting licensing, maintenance, service performance and contract management activities.\nIdentify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting and the accuracy of information used across business functions.\nSupport change management activities, ensuring system updates are appropriately assessed, communicated and implemented.\nProvide guidance to business users, promoting effective use of enterprise applications and identifying training requirements.\nContribute to the development and continuous improvement of IT governance, policies, procedures and standards.\nRequirements\nProven experience in a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst role, supporting business-critical or enterprise applications.\nStrong business analysis skills, including requirements gathering, process mapping, documentation and identifying opportunities for improvement.\nExperience working with enterprise systems supporting corporate functions, ideally including Finance and/or HR.\nGood understanding of application support, system enhancements, change management and incident resolution processes.\nExperience working with technical teams, business stakeholders and external vendors to deliver effective technology solutions.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex issues and recommend practical solutions.\nExperience supporting or delivering IT projects, with an understanding of project management methodologies and governance.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively across technical and non-technical teams.\nA structured, proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work across different business functions.\nRelevant professional accreditations in business analysis, IT or project management would be advantageous.\nPrevious experience within the oil and gas or wider energy sector would be beneficial.\nBenefits\nAt Sword, our core values and culture are based on caring about our people, investing in training and career development, and building inclusive teams where we are all encouraged to contribute to achieve success.
