We have a passion for using technology to solve business problems, working in partnership with our clients to help in achieving their goals.\nAbout the role:\nAs a Microsoft 365 / SharePoint Consultant, you will work closely with our customers to design, implement and optimise Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online solutions, supporting digital transformation, data migration and information governance initiatives.\nWorking within our Data Services team, you will support organisations across the Energy sector, helping them modernise their information environments, migrate legacy content and establish secure, well-governed collaboration platforms.\nThis is a hands-on consultancy role combining solution design with technical delivery, with a strong emphasis on SharePoint information architecture, Microsoft Purview and information governance. You will work directly with customers to design and implement secure, compliant Microsoft 365 environments, while supporting complex data migration and modernisation programmes.\nAs the Microsoft 365 / SharePoint Consultant, you will:\nWork directly with customers to understand business requirements, assess existing environments and recommend appropriate Microsoft 365 and SharePoint solutions.\nDesign and implement SharePoint Online environments, including site architecture, document libraries, metadata, taxonomy, content types and permissions.\nLead and deliver migrations from legacy file shares and SharePoint environments into SharePoint Online, using tools such as ShareGate and Microsoft migration tooling.\nDesign and implement information governance and compliance solutions using Microsoft Purview, including sensitivity labels, retention policies and data classification.\nDevelop migration strategies covering discovery, data assessment, information architecture, security, testing and cutover planning.\nEstablish SharePoint governance frameworks to support effective information management, secure collaboration and ongoing platform management.\nUse PowerShell and PnP scripting to automate migration activities, site provisioning and administrative processes.\nAdvise customers on Microsoft 365 best practices, including information security, access management and Copilot readiness.\nCollaborate with technical teams, stakeholders and end users throughout solution design, implementation and adoption.\nProduce solution documentation, provide technical guidance and support the successful transition of solutions into operational use.\nRequirements\nWe are looking for an experienced Microsoft 365 / SharePoint professional who combines strong technical expertise with a consultative approach to solution design and delivery.\nYou will bring:\nStrong hands-on experience designing and implementing SharePoint Online solutions within Microsoft 365 environments.\nProven experience planning and delivering SharePoint and file-share migrations, including the use of ShareGate or equivalent migration tools.\nPractical experience designing SharePoint information architecture, including metadata, taxonomy, content types, site structures and permissions.\nHands-on experience configuring Microsoft Purview capabilities, particularly sensitivity labels, retention policies, data classification and information protection.\nExperience developing and implementing information governance frameworks and Microsoft 365 best practices.\nStrong PowerShell scripting skills, ideally including PnP PowerShell, to support automation and migration activities.\nExperience working directly with customers or business stakeholders to gather requirements, lead technical discussions and translate business needs into practical solutions.\nA good understanding of Microsoft 365 security, compliance and access management.\nThe ability to take ownership of technical delivery, from initial discovery and solution design through to implementation and handover.\nStrong communication and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to provide technical recommendations and challenge requirements where appropriate.\nExperience with Power Automate, Microsoft Teams governance, Microsoft 365 Copilot readiness or wider Microsoft 365 transformation programmes would be advantageous.\nBenefits\nAt Sword, our core values and culture are based on caring about our people, investing in training and career development, and building inclusive teams where we are all encouraged to contribute to achieve success.
