And of course, in your ideas to improve lives while preserving our planet’s beauty for the generations to come.\nRoles and Responsibilities\nJoin Syensqo's Materials and Testing laboratory as a Laboratory Technician during an exciting period of growth. The team generates reliable test data to support aerospace customer qualifications, product re-sites, problem resolution and product development. You will fabricate composite and adhesive panels, machine test specimens and carry out mechanical testing in line with international and customer standards. Full training is available for candidates who are new to the field, and applicants with relevant laboratory, manufacturing or testing experience are also encouraged to apply.\nKey responsibilities\nDemonstrate and promote a strong safety culture in all laboratory activities.\nFabricate composite and adhesive panels and prepare specimens using appropriate machining equipment.\nCarry out destructive mechanical testing across a broad range of composite and adhesive specimen types.\nFollow applicable international standards, customer specifications and internal procedures.\nMaintain accurate, traceable records and project documentation to an externally auditable standard.\nWork collaboratively with colleagues, customers and suppliers to support business priorities.\nMaintain high standards of housekeeping and care for the laboratory working environment.\nExperience and Skills\nFive GCSEs/O Levels, or A levels in relevant subjects.\nThree or more years' experience in an industrial or technology environment.\nPractical experience of operating machining equipment. \nThe ability to read and understand technical English, including customer specifications and related documentation.\nComputer literacy, including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.\nExperience of working effectively as part of a team.\nAn HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant science, engineering or technical field. \nExperience of composite panel fabrication or universal test machines such as MTS, Instron or Zwick, including associated data-acquisition software.\nKnowledge of composite materials across a range of matrix and reinforcement technologies.\nWorking knowledge of a laboratory information management system, ideally LabWare LIMS. \nWhat you can expect from us\nA collaborative role within a dynamic team at the core of the business.\nTraining and opportunities for professional growth and development.\nA diverse and inclusive workplace that values and respects individual differences and backgrounds.\nWhat We Offer\nThe UK annual base salary reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is £27,000 - £35,000.
