And of course, in your ideas to improve lives while preserving our planet’s beauty for the generations to come.\nWe are looking for:\nSyensqo is seeking a Sr. Site Process Engineer to provide process engineering leadership and technical expertise to the chemical manufacturing operation at the Cytec Canada Inc (a member of the Syensqo Group) Niagara Falls, Ontario site. The successful candidate will serve as a senior technical resource for process safety, process design, operational excellence, manufacturing optimization, capital project development and execution, and new product introductions. This role works closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and Research & Innovation (R&I) to improve safety, reliability, quality, productivity, and sustainability performance while ensuring regulatory compliance and manufacturing excellence.\nWe Count on you to:\nLead and support process improvement initiatives focused on Manufacturing Excellence, OEE improvement, process safety, variable cost reduction, quality improvement, reliability, and sustainability.\nDevelop and maintain Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), process design packages, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and engineering documentation.\nPerform process engineering calculations including mass and energy balances, hydraulic evaluations, pressure relief evaluations, equipment sizing, and process simulations.\nDevelop specifications for new or existing equipment and instrumentation based upon specific manufacturing, process, and project requirements.\nLead and support FEL/stage-gate capital projects from concept development and process design through detailed engineering, commissioning, startup, and post-startup optimization.\nLead and support Management of Change (MOC) activities, Pre-job Hazard Assessments (PJHA) and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR). \nLead or facilitate Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs) and other process studies as required, and drive closure of resulting recommendations.\nEnsure process design, project execution, and operations support activities comply with Syensqo HSE requirements, TSSA requirements, and applicable federal, provincial, and local regulations.\nTroubleshoot plant operating and reliability issues and collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Control Engineers to identify sustainable solutions and improve process performance.\nLead and support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.\nUtilize process data analytics and process historian tools to identify opportunities for improved yield, energy efficiency, asset utilization, and operational reliability.\nWork with Research & Innovation (R&I), Technology Development, and Operations teams to scale new processes from laboratory or pilot plant to production scale.\nProvide technical mentoring and coaching to junior engineers, interns, and operations engineers.\nWork with multidisciplinary teams to deliver capital and process improvement projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.\nParticipate in development of long-term assets, reliability, and process safety improvement strategies for the site.\nYou will bring:\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering.\nProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario.\nMinimum 10 years of progressive experience in chemical manufacturing, including demonstrated leadership of process improvement, process safety, and capital project initiatives.\nExperience supporting continuous and/or batch manufacturing processes involving high-pressure systems and hazardous materials (pyrophoric, flammable, and toxic substances).\nStrong knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM), Management of Change (MOC), Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs), incident investigation, root cause analysis, and risk management practices.\nExpertise with pressure relief device revalidation, pressure relief system design, and overpressure mitigation studies.\nHands-on experience with Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, and other process simulation software.\nDemonstrated success leading and implementing process improvement, HSE, manufacturing excellence, and capital projects.\nExperience working with multidisciplinary teams to execute capital and operational improvement projects.\nKnowledge of distributed control systems (DCS), process control strategies, instrumentation, alarm management, interlocks, and safety instrumented systems (SIS).\nWorking knowledge of process historians such as OSI PI or equivalent systems.\nKnowledge of applicable industry standards, codes, and process safety practices (API, ASME, NFPA, CSA, and CCPS).\nStrong understanding of Ontario regulatory requirements and compliance obligations, including TSSA regulations, pressure equipment and piping requirements, refrigeration systems, operating engineer regulations, environmental compliance, and process safety management programs.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical writing skills.\nYou will get:\nThe Canadian base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $118,710to $141,133 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range.
