We are looking for curious, motivated students who are excited to solve complex problems, bring new perspectives to cross-functional teams, and see their work make an impact in a fast-moving, innovative environment.\nAlong the way, Interns and Co-ops are supported through mentorship, professional development, networking opportunities, and a robust calendar of events designed to help them build community and grow their careers.Symboticoffers transportation and housing benefits for students who meet our relocation requirements.\nContinue reading below to learn more about this exciting opportunity!\nWhatyou’lldo:\nApply user-centered design, Design Thinking processes, and Lean Design principles to create exceptional user experiences.\n\nBe a self-motivated member of the team, working independently and seeking guidance when necessary to complete tasks.\n\nOrganize andfacilitateuser testing sessions, collaborating closely with UX Researchers, Principal and Seniordesigners, anddevelopmentstakeholders.\n\nContribute to developing andmaintainingtheSymboticUI Design System.\n\nOwn active design projects from end-to-end by creating sketches, wireframes, high-resolution UI visual designs, and Figma clickable prototypes.\n\nAdvocate for end-users, UX Research & Design processes and methodologies, innovation, usability and accessibility, and the creation and guidance of interface standards.\n\nObserve operations at the Wilmington, MA Headquarters and Test site to experienceSymbotic’scomplex hardware and software products for better context when designing.\n\nWhatyou’llneed:\nCurrentlypursuing aBachelor’sdegree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, UX Design) or equivalent practical experience.\n\nA creative, strategic, and innovative personality with a drive to ask insightful questions and understand user aspirations, frustration, and motivations.\n\nSolid understanding of UX design principles, information architecture, and user-centered design methodologies.\n\nAbility to work with ambiguous requirements and produce results independently.\n\nFamiliaritywith design tools like Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD.\n\nWillingness to collaborate and bring a voice for UX to development teams, ensuring that designs are implemented as intended.\n\nVocal, humble, and coachable contributor and recipient of design critiques.\n\nAbility to work across multiple design projectswithmaintainingtimelines and deadlines in JIRA, Confluence, etc.\n\nFamiliarity with generative AI applied to UX design and analysis, with interest in othertechnologiesis a plus.\n\nOur Environment\nUp to 10% of travel may berequired.
