Your job will be to lead accounting, financial reporting, and compliance activities for our Canadian operations while partnering with Corporate FP&A to support planning and business decisions.\nYou will serve as the primary finance leader for the Canadian entity, establishing scalable processes and balancing local requirements with the reporting and governance needs of a U.S.-based multinational organization. This remote opportunity preferred location, Toronto, Canada. This position will report to the International Controller.\nWhat we do\nThe International Finance organization supports Symbotic's global operations by maintaining strong financial controls, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing accurate financial reporting across international entities. The team partners closely with Accounting, Tax, Legal, FP&A, Operations, and external advisors to support business growth of Symbotic’s Canadian operations.\nWhat you'll do\nManage Canadian federal and provincial tax, regulatory, and statutory reporting requirements, including statutory financial statements and regulatory filings\nLead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including post and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial analyses\nPrepare, review, and investigate balance sheet reconciliations, accounting variances, and financial discrepancies while proactively escalating risks and recommendations to management\nEnsure compliance with Canadian accounting standards, statutory reporting requirements, labor regulations, payroll requirements, and other regulatory obligations. \nPartner with Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Legal, and Operations teams to support budgeting, forecasting, contract accounting, and operational finance initiatives\nSupport external audits, process improvements, ERP initiatives, and internal control enhancements that enable scalable international growth.\nWhat you'll need\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\nMinimum of 8 years of related experience or equivalent work experience.\nCPA designation or an equivalent professional accounting qualification is preferred, along with strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.\nStrong knowledge of Canadian accounting, tax, statutory reporting, and regulatory requirements.\nExperience in financial reporting, controllership, compliance, audit management, and multinational or cross-border operations.\nStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP and multinational financial reporting environments.\nFluency in English and French, both written and verbal.\nExperience with ERP systems; SAP experience is preferred.\nExperience with project accounting, long-term contract accounting, construction accounting, and revenue recognition principles\nRemote Opportunity, preferred location Toronto, Canada\nOur Environment\nUp to 10% of travel may be required.
