This role is heavily focused on software deployment, Kubernetes platform operations, production troubleshooting, and robotics system support rather than traditional software development.\nThe ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Kubernetes administration, deployment management, distributed systems troubleshooting, and production operations. This individual will play a critical role in deploying, maintaining, and supporting the software platforms that power Symbotic's advanced warehouse automation and robotics solutions.\nWhat we do\nThe T3 Software Engineer team is responsible for building, deploying, operating, and supporting mission-critical software systems that drive warehouse automation at scale. We partner closely with Robotics, Controls, Infrastructure, DevOps, QA, and Product teams to ensure reliable deployments and stable operations across development, staging, customer, and production environments.\nWhat you’ll do\nDeploy, manage, upgrade, and support containerized applications across multiple Kubernetes environments. \nOwn end-to-end deployment activities, including release planning, execution, validation, rollback, and production readiness. \nManage and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters, ensuring reliability, availability, and operational excellence. \nSupport software releases across customer, staging, and production environments. \nDrive operational improvements to increase deployment efficiency and platform stability. \nSupport large-scale Kubernetes environments including deployment, scaling, upgrades, cluster administration, and incident response. \nTroubleshoot complex infrastructure issues involving networking, storage, compute, service communication, and application performance. \nPartner with Robotics, Controls, Infrastructure, QA, and Software Engineering teams to diagnose and resolve deployment and production issues. \nParticipate in release readiness reviews and ensure successful deployment execution across multiple environments. \nImprove deployment processes, operational procedures, and platform stability through continuous process improvement. \nWhat you’ll need\n7+ years of experience in software engineering, release engineering, site reliability engineering, platform engineering, or deployment engineering roles. \nDeep hands-on Kubernetes experience, including: Cluster administration, Application deployment, Scaling and performance tuning, Networking and ingress troubleshooting, Storage management, Cluster upgrades and lifecycle management, Production incident response \nStrong troubleshooting and debugging skills in complex distributed systems. \nStrong Linux administration experience and working knowledge of Windows environments. \nExperience with container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes. \nExperience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar technologies. \nStrong knowledge of Git workflows, release management, and deployment practices. \nWorking proficiency in Python and Shell scripting, with an emphasis on operational automation rather than application development. \nUnderstanding of microservices architectures and distributed application deployments. \nAbility to independently manage high-priority production issues and drive them through resolution. \nA track record of working effectively across multiple teams in a globally distributed environment. \nPreferred qualifications\nExperience supporting robotics, warehouse automation, industrial automation, or autonomous systems. \nUnderstanding how robotics software, edge services, backend platforms, and infrastructure interact in large-scale operational environments. \nExperience with observability platforms including Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Open Telemetry, or similar tools. \nExperience with GitOps technologies such as ArgoCD or Flux. \nExposure to enterprise Kubernetes platforms including Rancher, OpenShift, or Tanzu. \nExperience supporting deployments in customer-facing or operational environments. \nFamiliarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. \nStrong judgment under pressure and the ability to communicate effectively during critical production incidents. \nAbility to identify operational inefficiencies and proactively automate repetitive tasks. \nOur Environment\nUp to 10% of travel may be required.
