This role is heavily focused on software deployment, Kubernetes platform operations, production troubleshooting, and robotics system support rather than traditional software development. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Kubernetes administration, deployment management, distributed systems troubleshooting, and production operations. This individual will play a critical role in deploying, maintaining, and supporting the software platforms that power Symbotic's advanced warehouse automation and robotics solutions.\nWhat we do\nThe T3 Software Engineer team is responsible for building, deploying, operating, and supporting mission-critical software systems that drive warehouse automation at scale. We partner closely with Robotics, Controls, Infrastructure, DevOps, QA, and Product teams to ensure reliable deployments and stable operations across development, staging,\ncustomer, and production environments\nWhat you’ll do\nOwn deployment across development, staging, and production: plan it, execute it, and make it repeatable.\nLead advanced troubleshooting and deep debugging across distributed systems, identify root causes, and implement robust fixes.\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance software solutions.\nDrive the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines.\nPartner with DevOps, QA, infrastructure, and product teams to ensure seamless delivery.\nOversee and improve deployment processes across development, staging, and production environments.\nEnsure reliability, observability, and performance in containerized environments; participate in incident response, postmortems, and continuous improvement.\nMentor junior engineers and contribute to technical decisions, engineering standards, and best practices.\nFind the manual, slow, or error-prone steps in how we build and deploy and turn them into automation.\nUse shell scripting and existing pipeline platforms to improve the process. Bring the automation; do not wait for someone else to design it.\nWhat you’ll need\n10+ years in technical roles centered on deployment, release engineering, production reliability, or systems operations, with substantial hands-on time debugging production-grade systems.\nDeep, practical Kubernetes experience: orchestration, scaling, and troubleshooting in real environments.\nStrong Linux and Windows skills.\nProven Jenkins, Git, CI/CD, branching strategy, software deployment, and release management experience. You have run releases, not only configured a pipeline.\nWorking proficiency in shell scripting, enough to automate a deployment or operational gap yourself.\nA track record of working across many teams in a distributed, global setup, and of operating independently in an offshore model.\nClear English communication, including with senior stakeholders when a release is at risk.\nJudgment about what is critical. You protect the deliverable, escalate early, and drive to a solution.\nComfort demonstrating the work live: deployments, failure analysis, and the case for a process change.\nA robotics background or a solid architectural understanding of how systems communicate.\nA team orientation, with a habit of looking for the next automation that will make the current process better.\nPreferred qualifications\nHands-on deployment and operations experience in supply chain or warehouse automation systems.\nFamiliarity with large-scale distributed systems in robotics, logistics, or industrial environments.\nExperience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.\nExposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.\nUnderstand the criticality in terms of deliverables\nAbility to communicate and engage in leadership when needed\nDrive toward solution\nWhat success looks like\nRapid identification and resolution of complex production issues.\nStable, efficient, and repeatable deployment pipelines.\nMeasurable improvements in system performance and reliability.\nStrong collaboration across geographically distributed teams.\nOur Environment\nUp to 10% of travel may be required.
