You will work with cross-functional leaders, including product owners, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, services, sales, and other stakeholders, to plan and execute projects. Your primary goal will be to ensure the teams are aligned, plans are executed, and issues/risks are managed effectively. You will be in a highly visible role and will interact with all departments and levels across the company, including executive management.\nWhat we do\nThe Technical Program Management Office (PMO) oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects within the Symbotic engineering organization. The PMO implements the processes, standards, and methodologies for managing engineering projects through the full development lifecycle including engineering design, transitioning and delivery to production, and engineering sustainment. The team ensures alignment with business objectives, manages key technical risks, and coordinates engineering resources to ensure successful project outcomes.\nWhat you'll do\nProject Leadership\nWork with engineering, product management, sales, and finance to ensure project plans for each initiative are sound and optimized.\nManage scope, schedule and budget for strategic engineering projects and initiatives managed within the Technical Project Management Office (PMO).\nFacilitate cross-functional meetings and regularly communicate initiative status to teams, senior management, and customers.\nRepresenting Symbotic to our customers as the project lead, ensuring clear communication, effective negotiation, and resolution of any roadblocks to success.\nProgram Integration and Site Deployment\nLead integrated planning across engineering development, long-lead procurement, site preparation, installation, commissioning, and operational readiness.\nCoordinate construction partners, engineering consultants, equipment suppliers, customers, and internal teams to manage site interfaces and deployment dependencies.\nEstablish and manage site-readiness, commissioning, acceptance, and operational-handoff requirements for complex automation deployments.\nManage customer and stakeholder expectations through clear communication, alignment, and proactive issue resolution.\nCustomer and Stakeholder Expectation Management\nEstablish and maintain alignment between internal program commitments and customer expectations for scope, schedule, system performance, site readiness, acceptance criteria, and operational transition.\nTranslate complex technical issues into clear business impacts, options, risks, and recommendations for executive leadership and customers.\nLead challenging cross-functional and customer discussions to resolve conflicts among technical, commercial, schedule, and operational priorities.\nProject Execution\nLead multidisciplinary teams to bring new products from concept through implementation, delivery, and support.\nWork closely with engineering managers and leaders, product managers/owners, to ensure rapid execution and on time, high quality delivery of complex projects. Interact with and motivate talented engineering teams across multiple locations, harnessing their high energy to deliver high quality products.\nManage technical development, integration and deployment for large-scale automation and robot systems from design to production deployment; manage engineering deliverables across multi-disciplinary engineering teams (software, mechanical, electrical, industrial and embedded controls).\nFacilitate the resolution of issues, risks, and challenges that surface through development lifecycle including new product development and hardware engineering process, production deployment and sustainment.\nManage cross-functional issue tracking to identify problems, track root-cause and corrective action plans; provide issue status across engineering teams and leadership.\nManage generation of critical project artifacts including Bill of Material (BoM), Tech Data Package (TDP) releases, Functional Requirements and Requirements Validation documentation.\nChampion Process\nFoster a culture focused on transparency, speed of decision-making, and a synchronized partnership throughout engineering and product teams.\nEnsure Symbotic's Product Lifecycle Management process is followed, coach teams in executing the NPD process and best practices.\nLean-focused, continual improvement of new standards, processes and procedures that streamline interactions and communication across teams.\nWhat you'll need\nMinimum of 8 years of related work experience.\nMinimum of 5 years of experience in a Program Management position.\nExperience delivering complex automation programs that include both new-product development and customer-site implementation.\nExperience managing construction, facility, infrastructure, or site-readiness dependencies associated with industrial automation deployments.\nDemonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams with shared resources, aggressive schedules, and evolving requirements.\nExperience planning system integration, verification, commissioning, operational-readiness, and acceptance activities.\nBS in Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or related discipline.\nExtensive experience in a central role in a highly integrated electro-mechanical systems, mechatronics, or robotics product development team.\nExtensive experience leading user-centered innovation programs across multiple disciplines.\nExperience managing large-scale system integration and test programs for complex electro-mechanical or automation systems.\nExperience planning and actively managing hardware and software deliverables of various disciplines, including robotic controls, routing, network, vision and perception systems.\nExperience building out project plans and structuring project work within JIRA.\nWorking experience partnering with third party vendors on electromechanical/robotics products through product launch and sustainment. Includes familiarity with Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing standards and practices.\nWillingness to fail quickly and fail often to succeed sooner when exploring solutions.\nExemplify being the team player. Conflict resolution and influencing skills are keys to success.\nExperience negotiating resources in a matrix environment to work on multiple workstreams, setting clear priorities when juggling priority paths.\nRespect and understanding of other disciplines; including Systems Engineering, Hardware Development, Electronics, Controls, Software, Quality and Manufacturing.\nProficient in JIRA, MS Project, MS Power Point, MS Excel, Word, and Visio.\nOur Environment\nUp to 25% of travel may be required.
