Leads junior QA Analysts during Testing Phases and QA effort and provides coaching and mentoring to help develop their capabilities.\nThis is a hybrid role with flexible onsite expectations, typically 1 to 2 days per week. New employees are expected to be onsite 2 to 3 times a week during their first three months to support onboarding and collaboration. \n\nAbout The Role:\nAnalyze business and product requirements to design high level testing approach for smaller projects in accordance with industry and Symcor standards and software development best practices in order to ensure that testing will validate the business functionality. Liaise with subject matter experts, development team, implementation support and production support staff to define testing specifications as required.\nRecommend product and business solution improvements for future releases.\nProvide input into implementation of the application solution.\nIdentify efficient testing solutions for all requirements.\nConvert business requirements into test cases.\nFix product defects and develop regressions tests.\nProvide accurate and timely estimates for work efforts, both for a single change request and small project initiative.\nIn collaboration with key stakeholders, contribute to the development of the test strategy and test plan and provide testing support for smaller projects to ensure the delivery of key projects and support initiatives that meet business and client needs in accordance with Symcor’s requirements and standards.\nEffective and timely identification of quality issues and risks.\nEffective and timely identification and resolution of barriers to test execution.\nSupport the completion of required documentation in a clear, complete, and accurate format (e.g., test strategy, test plan).\nProvide QA project Status feedback.\nParticipate in continuous improvement within Quality Assurance and Test Execution in order to deliver a functional, reliable and available solution to clients and the business in the most efficient, effective and timely way.\nReview and recommend test automation.\nReview and recommend industry standard with respect to testing tools, process and methodology (e.g., Agile).\nIdentify gaps in current processes and procedures and contribute to process improvements/make recommendations for improvement.\nCoach and mentor the most junior Quality Analysts, including identifying skill gaps, delegating tasks, explaining concepts and strategies, and reviewing testing issues related to smaller projects to develop the capability of the team, ensuring work is completed to industry and Symcor best practices and standards.\n\nWhat You Need to Succeed:\n\nEducation:\nCollege diploma or undergraduate university degree in a related discipline (e.g., Computer Science) or a combination of experience, education and/or training deemed to be equivalent.\nExperience:\nTypically has 5-10 years of testing experience in a QA environment.\n5+ years of experience with automated regression test tools and building and maintaining the automated test scripts.\n\nSkill requirements\nProven history or writing and maintaining test cases, test plans and test scripts.\nExcellent comprehension of QA process and methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle.\nExcellent knowledge in MS Word, MS Project, MS Excel and
