across teams, working with vendors, engineers, infrastructure, security, operations, and business stakeholders\nYour Impact\nIn this role, you will:\nDesign end-to-end solutions for vendor-delivered payment platforms\nAssess vendor technologies and designs through technical due diligence and architecture reviews\nDefine integrations across applications, APIs, data, infrastructure, security, and supporting platforms\nTranslate business needs into functional and non-functional architecture requirements\nIdentify and address architecture risks, dependencies, and design gaps early in delivery\nProduce clear architecture artifacts aligned with Symcor standards and governance\nGuide implementation, working with vendors and delivery teams to ensure solutions align with approved architecture\nContribute to architecture governance and the evolution of Symcor’s payment platforms\nWhat You Bring\nEducation & Experience\nDegree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience\n5+ years of experience in solution architecture, software engineering, systems integration, consulting, or vendor solutions\nExperience with enterprise-scale, business-critical applications\nExperience assessing, designing, or integrating vendor-delivered technology solutions\nExposure to financial services, payments, or transaction processing is an asset\nCore Technical Skills\nMust-Have\nStrong knowledge of solution and application architecture\nExperience with systems integration, including APIs, services, messaging, and data flows\nWorking knowledge of infrastructure architecture, including network, compute, storage, middleware, and cloud/hybrid environments\nUnderstanding of security, scalability, high availability, resiliency, and disaster recovery\nAbility to assess vendor designs, identify gaps and risks, and drive sound technical solutions\nUnderstanding of non-functional requirements and technology risk\nAbility to document and communicate architecture clearly to both technical and business audiences\nFamiliarity with TOGAF, ArchiMate, UML, or similar architecture practices\nUnderstanding of architecture governance and enterprise technology standards\nBonus Points\nYou’ll stand out if you bring:\nExperience with Day 1 and Day 2 cheque processing\nExperience with Alogent Payments Gateway (APG), Alogent Remote Deposit (RDC), or comparable payment and cheque-processing technologies\nKnowledge of cheque capture, clearing, settlement, returns, and exception processing\nExperience with high-volume, business-critical payment platforms\nKnowledge of PCI, SOC 2, or similar financial-services control environments\nExposure to cloud, containers, APIs, OpenShift, event-driven
