The internship duration is 12 weeks. Applicants will be able to indicate their preferred session during the application process.\nWe are seeking university students who are interested in joining the Symetra Internal Audit team as a summer intern. This internship will prepare the candidate for a future career in the audit and risk management profession by providing practical on-the-job experience, mentoring relationships, and professional networking opportunities.\nPotential Responsibilities:Provide support to internal audit engagement teams by assisting with the planning for and auditing of processes and controls in accounting, finance, information technology and operations to ensure accuracy, effectiveness, and reliability.\nAssist with the testing of internal controls over financial reporting (SOX).\nAssist the lead auditor with various tasks including planning, organization of documentation, meeting scheduling and other administrative tasks associated with audits.\nDevelop an understanding of company operations, including specific insurance and financial services industry practices.\nPresent regular status updates and communicate findings to audit team.\nReport to Audit Project Manager and/or Audit Manager\nWhat we offer youFully remote internship - we ship you the equipment you need to enjoy work from the comfort of home.\nRequirements:Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program pursuing a finance, accounting, or related degree with a GPA of 3.5 or higher\nHighly motivated individuals, with a strong desire to exceed expectations\nExcellent communication and presentation skills\nThriving in a challenging and fast-paced work environment with ability to prioritize, organize and plan well\nAnalytical mindset with attention to detail\nTeam player that fosters a positive and proactive work environment\nInnovative in resolving issues and improving processes\nStrong computer skills, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint\nPrior IT-related coursework, technical skills, or experience is a plus.\n\nWe empower inclusion\nAt Symetra, we aspire to be the most inclusive insurance company in the country.
