infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements for reliability, performance and availability\nMonitor infrastructure and system performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues, vulnerabilities and outages while driving down mean time to resolution\nDevelop and implement automation using Python, PowerShell, APIs and infrastructure-as-code to reduce manual effort and improve operational consistency\nDefine and apply SRE practices including SLO/SLI definition, error budgets, toil reduction and post-incident learning\nEstablish observability strategies for storage and backup services, including metrics, logs, traces, dashboards and alerting\nImplement secure configurations and data protection controls such as encryption, immutability, ransomware recovery and least-privilege access\nCollaborate with architects, product managers, application, cybersecurity and service management teams to define requirements and ensure seamless integration\nSet technical direction, guide and coach specialists, and contribute to strategy, budgets and policy governance\nManage and mitigate operational and technology risks, strengthening controls and governance across the team's work\nStay informed of industry trends in storage, backup, cloud and containerised platforms, and contribute to technical excellence within the organisation\nRequirements\n14-22 years of experience in infrastructure engineering with a strong focus on enterprise storage and data protection\nDemonstrated expertise in block storage technologies (SAN, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, multipathing, zoning) and end-to-end troubleshooting\nStrong hands-on experience with file storage platforms (NFS/SMB, permissions, snapshots, replication, scalability)\nProven capability in enterprise backup and recovery engineering, including policy design, retention, restore validation and disaster recovery readiness\nSolid experience applying SRE principles such as error budgets, SLO/SLI definition, toil reduction and automation-first operations\nStrong observability experience with metrics, logs, traces, dashboards and alerting for storage and backup services\nExcellent collaboration and communication skills with a track record of influencing across infrastructure, application, cybersecurity and service management teams\nDesirable: scripting and automation with Python/PowerShell, API integrations or infrastructure-as-code\nDesirable: knowledge of cloud storage and backup concepts, ITIL/service management practices, and VMware or Kubernetes storage
