Symphony is a global design and development software company headquartered in San Francisco with 800+ technologists located across engineering offices in Southeast Europe and Latin America, along with business development offices in the US and Western Europe, and a Remote hub engaging employees from Latin America to Africa and Asia. In the last 20 years, we have launched over 400 products for the world’s leading startups, enterprises, Private Equity companies, and Fortune 500 companies.
Our team has a proven track record in helping clients increase revenue, reduce time-to-market, improve end-user experiences, and achieve scalability. We have domain expertise spanning financial services, banking, retail, technology, healthcare, as well as the VC and PE ecosystem, among others.
We are on the lookout for a Delivery Director.
As a Delivery Director at Symphony, you will lead our client accounts and ensure clients achieve the results we promised. This is a value-led role, not a project management role: success means delivering results that clients recognise, not just delivering on time and within budget. You will lead AI-first delivery, ensure account profitability, and act as a trusted partner to client leaders.
What would be your responsibilities if you join us?
- Agree with clients what success looks like, set clear measures and starting points, and track results against them.
- Present achieved results at quarterly business reviews, so clients can see the value and make clear decisions.
- Plan work around client goals rather than a feature list, and adjust the plan when priorities or dependencies change.
- Lead and grow the delivery team on your account, and build AI-first ways of working in delivery.
- Own the delivery side of the SOW: deliverables, acceptance criteria, assumptions and change control, and have renewals agreed before they expire.
- Forecast capacity, timelines and staffing for your accounts, and plan scenarios that keep client goals on track.
- Design and build AI workflows where AI and agents do real parts of analysis, engineering and QA, with clear review points and quality checks by people.
- Turn workflows that work into reusable practices, prompts and agent setups that other accounts can adopt.
- Use account data to show where AI saved time or cost, and where it did not.
- Manage quality, risks and dependencies, and escalate based on the impact on client goals.
- Protect account margin and price every scope change before agreeing to it.
- Spot and size new opportunities with clients, and pass qualified ones to our commercial team.
- Be a credible technical partner to client technology leaders, and explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
There are some requirements that will make you stand out:
- Proven experience leading delivery of complex software projects for external clients at account level
- A track record of showing clients measurable business results, with examples you can walk us through.
- Experience with delivery forecasting, capacity and staffing planning.
- Hands-on experience designing, building and reusing AI workflows in delivery, not only using AI tools, and knowing when not to use AI.
- Good understanding of margin, pricing models (time and materials, fixed price, outcome-based) and proposals.
- Experience setting quality standards, managing risks and dependencies, and fixing the root causes of repeat problems.
- Enough technical knowledge of architecture, integrations and technical debt to be a credible peer to client CTOs.
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills with senior client leaders.
- Strategic thinking, ownership of results and the ability to lead teams through change.
- Fluent English, spoken and written.
What this role offers you:
- Real ownership of your accounts. You own outcomes, scope and the SOW, and shape pricing together with our Senior Client Partner. You make the decisions on your account, not just coordinate them.
- Access to senior leaders from day one. You work directly with client CTOs and executives, including leaders at global consulting partners.
- Complex, multi-vendor delivery. Our largest accounts run alongside other vendors and consultancies, which builds experience you won't get on simpler projects.
- A real say in how AI-first delivery works. AI and agents already do real work on our projects. You help design the workflows, decide how they are governed and turn what works into practices other teams reuse.
You will easily fit into Symphony culture if you:
- Are proactive and enthusiastic about your own continuous learning and improvement
- Have the ability to analyze and understand the business context and logic behind your job responsibilities
- Enjoy working in a pleasant and cooperative atmosphere
- Excited about working in international teams and using well-written and spoken English daily
