Its Stentrode™ platform is the first endovascular BCI designed to translate thought into digital action without open-brain surgery. Having proven that a minimally invasive BCI works, Synchron is now building a frontier next-generation platform. Brain-computer interfaces are one of the defining frontiers of deep tech, where neuroscience, semiconductor design, and AI converge on engineering problems no one has solved before.\nSan Diego is Synchron's engineering and manufacturing hub, where our next-generation platform is designed, built, and qualified. Electrical and mechanical engineers, ASIC designers, materials scientists, microfabrication and manufacturing teams, and preclinical and test teams work side by side, from the lab bench to the cleanroom, on ultra-low-power neural recording, wireless implant telemetry, and precision medical device assembly. That close, hands-on collaboration is why this role is in the office five days a week.\n ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nCoordinate the day-to-day execution of Synchron's preclinical studies (GLP and non-GLP) across contract research organizations and internal laboratory settings, including in vivo, ex vivo and bench studies supporting the next-generation platform.\nAct as the primary operational contact for study directors, CRO staff, surgeons, pathology partners and specialist contractors; own study calendars, procedure scheduling, logistics and timelines, and keep internal stakeholders informed of status and risks.\nPrepare, track and archive study documentation, including protocols and amendments, test article and equipment records, shipping and chain-of-custody records, study data, sample tracking and interim and final reports, in collaboration with the sponsor representative, Regulatory and Quality.\nCoordinate test article and equipment logistics for each study: device requests from manufacturing, inspection and labelling, shipping, calibration and preventive maintenance of laboratory and imaging equipment, and consumables inventory.\nCoordinate the flow of explanted devices and tissue samples to histopathology, materials analysis and other external partners, and track results through to study reports.\nSupport ethics and animal welfare submissions (IACUC) and maintain GLP compliance records (21 CFR Part 58) together with Quality Assurance.\nSet up, operate and maintain internal laboratory space: equipment, consumables, cleaning and waste streams, service contracts, room access and scheduling, and the associated safety documentation and SOPs.\nCoordinate the procurement, receipt, tracking, storage and disposition of biological materials in line with supplier agreements and applicable regulations, maintaining full traceability records.\nMaintain the laboratory safety program: biosafety and bloodborne pathogen controls, biohazardous and medical waste handling, radiation safety for imaging equipment, EHS compliance and training records.\nMaintain internal procedure sessions and physician and engineer training sessions: scheduling, room and equipment setup, participant logistics and documentation.\nProvide hands-on support during procedures: room and equipment setup, sterile field support, operation of imaging and recording equipment, and real-time documentation.\nCoordinator of vendors and study budgets: quotes, purchase orders, invoices and contracts for CROs, suppliers, equipment rental and specialist contractors.\nSupport audits and inspections, and contribute to continuous improvement of preclinical processes, templates and SOPs.\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed in the following are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nMINIMUM EDUCATION\nBachelor's degree in biology, biomedical engineering, animal science, veterinary technology or a related life science field, or equivalent experience.\n MINIMUM EXPERIENCE\n3+ years of experience in preclinical research, laboratory operations or a surgical/procedural environment (CRO, medical device company, academic lab, veterinary or clinical setting).\nHands-on experience supporting in vivo procedures, including procedure room setup, sterile technique and documentation.\nExperience with GLP study documentation and quality systems.\nExperience handling biological materials and maintaining inventory, traceability and chain-of-custody records.\nExperience coordinating multiple external vendors, contractors and facilities, including scheduling, logistics and budgets.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to run several studies in parallel and keep records audit-ready.\nLICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, REGISTRATIONS\nNone required. Valid driver's license required. Current bloodborne pathogen, biosafety and radiation safety training, or willingness to complete it on hire.\n Preferred Qualifications\nExperience with neurovascular, cardiovascular or other catheter-based device procedures, or work in a cath lab or interventional suite.\nExperience with fluoroscopy and C-arm operation, including radiation safety practices.\nExperience setting up a new laboratory or procedure space, including equipment selection, vendor contracts, facility compliance and SOP development.\nExperience with large animal models (ovine, canine, porcine) and IACUC or AAALAC-accredited facilities.\nAALAS certification (ALAT, LAT or LATG), RVT, surgical technologist or similar credential.\nFamiliarity with medical device development, design controls and ISO 13485 quality systems.\nFamiliarity with electrophysiology or neural recording equipment and data handling.\nComfortable in a fast-moving start-up environment with changing priorities and early starts on procedure days.","description_format":"text","description_chars":6134,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":3,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Biomedical
