Middleware is a critical application for supplying data to different backend, front-end systems and Synchrony applications.\n\nAs a Software Development Engineer II, you’ll be a part of an amazing team working on our microservices and APIs throughout the entire development process, leveraging cloud technologies. You’ll participate in hackathons and partner with universities on innovation events.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\nBuild microservices, MFEs, and APIs leveraging cloud technologies with high quality and sound design principles.\nManage DevOps pipelines for microservices, MFEs, and APIs.\nAnalyze production defects, troubleshoot systems, identify root cause, and implement fixes.\nWork with third-party vendors to develop software and/or integrate their software into our products.\nPerform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.\nParticipate in Agile scrums with cross-functional teams.\nParticipate in Agile sprints including story writing, planning, daily standups, backlog grooming sessions, and reviews.\nParticipate in SAFe ceremonies.\nProvide on-call support.\n\nRequired Skills/Knowledge:\nMinimum 2+ years of experience in Java, Spring projects including Spring Boot, Spring Framework, React JS, Spring Cloud, Git, Maven, REST, and SOAP.\nExperience working on cloud platforms like AWS and Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF).\nKnowledge of container application development, Docker, and Kubernetes.\nExperience working with messaging and streaming technologies such as RabbitMQ, IBM MQ, and Kafka.\nExperience working with logging tools like ELK and Splunk.\nExperience working in Agile application development and familiarity with tools like JIRA.\nExperience writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using frameworks like JUnit, Mockito, and Spring Test.\nExperience with continuous integration environments and tools like Jenkins.\nExperience developing high-quality code with the ability to review and leverage quality check tools like Sonar and PMD.\nAbility to quickly learn new technologies and frameworks.\nAbility to analyze, use structured problem solving, and available tools to troubleshoot systems, identify root cause, action plans, impact, and resolutions.\nExperience designing applications using SOLID principles, Java, and microservice design patterns with business acumen.\nWorking knowledge of RDBMS.\n\nEligibility Criteria:\nBachelor’s degree and 2+ years relevant experience in Information Technology, or in lieu of a degree 4+ years relevant experience in Information Technology.\n\nWork Timings:\n\n2:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST\n\nThis role will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time and 11:30 AM Eastern Time. This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
